There's only one thing in life Lucien Knight really hates, and that's husbands who cheat on their wives.

There's only one problem in Sophie Black's life. Her cheating husband...

From the moment Lucien & Sophie meet, the seal is set.

CEO of Knight Inc. Lucien Knight is catch-your-breath gorgeous and damaged by his troubled past in Norway. All grown up and relocated to London, he's built his empire of adult clubs from the ground up to become the gorgeous patron saint of the sex industry. No one knows the dark childhood secrets that have given Lucien a backbone of steel and a heart encased in ice. No one until Sophie Black, that is...

From the moment girl-next-door Sophie accepts the job as Lucien Knight's PA, she understands how Alice must have felt when she tumbled down the rabbit hole. Lucien takes her safe, vanilla life away and plunges her head first into a huge dish of fantasy flavours. Rich, spicy chocolate covered with dark, oozingly lickable sauce? Check. Tutti-frutti with indecently red, glistening cherries on the top? Yes please.

Lucien strips away all of Sophie's inhibitions, and when he instructs her to select three new toys, she soon realises he has more than a game of Monopoly on his mind...

He's opened the door to a whole new pleasure packed world without limits, and Sophie is utterly intoxicated. But how far is she willing to go? And what happens when she has to step back into reality again?

Lucien & Sophie's is a story of star crossed love and forbidden passion, a sexual odyssey that spans the globe and changes both of their lives forever. Let it change yours, too.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

“He wasn’t a man given to romance, but the perfect weight of this woman in his arms and the majesty of the skies above them filled him with an unexpected sense of peace.”

I’m not sure if this one started as fanfiction but it kind of had a Fifty Shades feel to it especially in the beginning with the job interview part. From there it progressed into something more. It all starts with boredom, Sophie decided to look for a new job and before she mails of her application she seals her envelope with an innocent kiss. Not knowing this would change her life forever. Here she meets Lucien. Hot, sexy , rich CEO of Knight Inc. But Sophie is a married woman. Married to an ass of a man who has been cheating on her for a very long time.

Surprised that Sophie is so much more that he expected,  he takes her under his wing and opens her eyes to pleasure, romance and passion that she’s never experienced in her marriage. And in the course of all this they both fall madly and deeply in love with each other.

“Of all the emotions Lucien Knight had aroused in her over the last few days, the one thing she hadn’t expected to feel was protective.”

I honestly can tell you, this one was pretty damn hot but there were a couple of elements that turned me off big time. First was the infidelity. Sure Sophie’s husband was cheating on her but instead of confronting him she decided to cheat on him too? Not only with a man who she’s only known for less than forty-eight hours but also a man that happens to be her new boss? And not only that, she agrees to go away with him. What if the guy was some psycho killer-rapist? Yeah he’s rich and attractive but still show some restraint!

Another was the cliffhanger. I honestly hate cliffhangers. And I am glad that this book was lended to me instead of bought otherwise I would have been more upset if I had spent money on half of a story. It was such a good thing that I discovered this book in March rather than in November since part 2 drops in a couple weeks.

Now despite my disappointments listed above, I still would read the second book which is due out in three weeks. The last scene in book 1 was pretty intense. We never got to see the altercation that was about to happen between Derek and Lucien and I was waiting for the moment to happen where I can jump out of my chair and start yelling ” Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!”

I also want to see how Derek explains why he cheats on her and how he grovels and asks for forgiveness. Obviously Sophie is eventually going to choose Lucien but will a relationship like that even last? A relationship based on  rebound sex, lying and cheating? Will Lucien and Sophie have enough in common and enough love to make their relationship work? I sure do hope so!

The Verdict:

rating-4

Casting Picks:
