The Manor, the very place where their passionate love affair began, fills with guests on what should be the happiest day of Ava and Jesse's lives. She has accepted that she'll never tame the fierceness in Jesse-and she doesn't want to. Their love is profound, their connection powerful, but just when she thinks that she's finally gotten beneath his guarded exterior, more questions arise, leading Ava to believe that Jesse Ward may not be the man she thinks he is. He knows too well how to take her to a place beyond ecstasy . . . but will he also drive her to the brink of despair? It's time for this man to confess.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

Another favorite series is coming to an end. And what an end it is. I will say that this is  one of my top 3 favorite reads so far this year.

What are my reasons for deciding this?

While this book seemed to be longer than your average read and normally I would have been bored  at Loc 6349/9531 , I never wanted it to end. There  was a never a dull moment. It was multi faceted. Not only did it focus on Ava and Jesse’s love but it also involved building newer relationships and also focused on  family and forgiveness. It was also both dramatic and suspenseful. It kept me guessing.

Jesse Ward surprisingly maintains his unique persona even if he was a man who falls deeply in love. He never losses his edge or his intensity.  He is completely unreasonable , obsessed almost borderline neurotic. And while he is all of these things, he remains ever so dedicated and continues to worship the very ground Ava walks on. He is always and forever will be the alpha male that we know and love.

Ava on the other hand was a little immature for me in the beginning. I hated how she seemed nonchalant about certain situations and was always putting herself in unnecessary risks  to push Jesse’s buttons. Then I come to realize this was just her way of coping. As the story went on I began to love her character as much as I loved Jesse.

The constant power struggles, the bickering and the way they continuously challenged each other could be somewhat overwhelming but all of this is what made their relationship unique. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. It was what made them, THEM. The passion those two have is  impeccable. And yes there is a lot of romancing in this book but it isn’t just about sex to them. It was also intimate and affectionate and the some of the scenes are so unique I am still in awe at Jodi Ellen Malpas’ imagination and creativity.

The story in general was very well told.   The secrets and how they were disclosed was also perfectly paced and well delivered. In no such way was the story anywhere predictable. This story will definitely keep you on your toes. This one is a 5+ rating for me. I can’t wait to see what Jodi Ellen Malpas has in store for us next.

The Verdict:

rating-5

About Jodi Ellen Malpas

British talent Jodi Ellen Malpas sold hundreds of thousands of e-books of her passionately erotic trilogy This Man before landing a major US publishing deal and sailing straight to the top of the New York Times bestsellers chart in a few short months. Success quickly followed in the UK, with thousands of readers falling head-over-heels for the devastatingly handsome Lord of the Manor Jesse Ward and his feisty counterpart, Ava O’Shea, as all three books became major Sunday Times bestsellers. This was followed by further success with her second series One Night, which introduced the irresistibly enigmatic M.

Jodi was born and raised in the Midlands town of Northampton, England, where she lives with her two boys and a beagle. She is a self-professed daydreamer, a Converse and, mojito addict, and has a terrible weak spot for Alpha Males.
