Renner Caldwell has her life perfectly mapped out. She has the ideal relationship, the perfect job and all is right in her world. When a shameful turn of events happens, she boards the first plane bound for Ireland to lick her wounds and get her head back on straight.

Cillian O’Braidagh is the sexy, front man to the Irish rock band, Over The Edge. His rising fame and sultry voice make him every woman’s fantasy come true. Not to mention his single-minded determination. To put it simply: what Cillian wants, Cillian always gets. And he wants Renner, because there’s just something about the flame-haired beauty he has to possess.

If their relationship was just about sex and rock n’ roll, it would be easy for them to get lost in their desires. Only their relationship is anything but a hook-up. Will lies, deceit and hidden tragedy get in the way, making the path to true love uncertain? Or will the girl whose been knocked Off Course, find her footing with the man who is teaching her it’s okay to lose control?

Liezel’s Thoughts:

This story is about Renner a young woman who has always plays by the rules. She has this ideal relationship stuck in her head – being married to a businessman, living in the suburbs with children running around in a perfect yard. But some things maybe just aren’t meant to be…

When Renner was seventeen  her parents send her to Ireland to visit her relatives  as a graduation present. Her cousin Cady one night decides to go out to meet a good friend. Unknowingly, this friend just happens to be the lead singer of Over The Edge – Cillian. Their physical attraction between the two in instantaneous. Being young and innocent Renner isn’t quite ready for that sort of relationship yet. After the summer ends she flies back to New Jersey had hasn’t any contact with him since.

Five years later, she decides to move to Ireland indefinitely. She bumps into the man that’s been nagging her mind for the last five years. At first she thought Cillian didn’t remember her well in fact she’s been in his thoughts just as much. Cillian just can’t get enough of her. As he pushes, she pulls away. A man like Cillian is nowhere near the  ideal man that she pictured in her head.

Finally one things leads to another and they start this heated physical relationship. In the back of their mind they know it can’t possibly be anything more. His lifestyle will never fit hers and vice versa. Given the outside forces that are also trying to pull them apart-will they  be given the chance to even  make things work? Or just let go of something that could potentially be so beautiful.

Okay so I have to admit  this… this is the first Sawyer Bennett book I’ve ever read. Unbelievable right? I have no idea how this series slipped past my “great series/ read now ” radar but it did and I think that is just crazy because I tell you this book is FANTASTIC!

There were just so many elements that I enjoyed about this story. First was the Ireland setting. Just reading the snippets about the country  and the unique phrases and wording  used in the book was interesting to me. I thought it sounded legitimate. At one point I was thinking maybe the author is from Ireland… not even close.  That alone impressed me. Can’t imagine how much research was put into this story.

I appreciated  how family oriented it was too and knowing that this is book 4 in the series  I’m excited to read into the first three books and see if the dynamics were just as wonderful as this one.  I loved how her cousins and brother defended Renner and how they showed their protective side yet somehow doing it in such a playful manner.

I absolutely loved Cillian. He had it all! He was enigmatic maybe a touch arrogant but he possessed all the right traits to back it up. I loved how dedicated he was to his music and to his band. He was also caring almost to the point where it destroys him. Even if he was a  known player, for the right person he definitely did prove that he possessed a  romantic side.

What I loved about this book was how it brought out so many emotions in me – it made me laugh and  shed a tear, it gave me the warm fuzzies but also made me feel frustrated and aggravated too. The tension was perfect. The passion between the two main characters was exceptional. The plot was well delivered. As part of a series I never felt shortchanged. Oh no there isn’t a cliffhanger at all. Say Yay!

I honestly was uncertain signing up for this tour since I haven’t read the first 3 books of this series. But I am sure glad that I did otherwise I might have missed out on this great series. Was I lost and confused? Nope – not at all. I was told that these books can be read as a stand alone and I tell you after reading this one…there is no waaaay I’m going to pass up on the others. Sawyer Bennett sure did gain a new fan. Loved it! Don’t hesitate to one click this one.
