Rylee Thomas is used to being in control. But she’s about to meet the one man that just might make her enjoy losing it…

I am the exception to the rule.

In a world full of willing women, I’m a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He’s the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track.

Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline.

I can’t give him what he wants and he can’t give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away?

Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

Liezel’s Thoughts:

My Blogging Buddies‘ just kept talking about how they could not get enough of this book….so I decided just to fast forward it on my TBR List.

Yes, it does sound somewhat similar to C and A’s story but there is so much more going on in this book. Rylee is this amazingly smart and attractive altruistic woman dedicated to her job that caters to young orphaned boys. Rylee literally falls into the arms of this spoiled, arrogant and egotistical playboy Colton at a charity event benefiting her work and everything changes from there.

“I want to take my time with you, Rylee. I want to build you up nice and slow and sweet like you need. Push you to crash over the edge. And then I want to fuck you the way I need to. Fast and hard until you’re screaming my name. The way I’ve wanted to since you fell out of that storage closet and into my life.”

Rylee knows that she should resist him but as much as she pulls away he pushes relentlessly. Being broken and alone for so long and with much encouragement from her best friend she caves in. From that one time together they both knew that there was something more. Colton doesn’t do relationships and Rylee can not be “that girl”. She wants more but he insists that he wasn’t meant for relationships.  He thinks he doesn’t deserve love and not knowing his history she thinks otherwise.

“…your lips were swollen, your eyes were wide and trusting… and I realized in that second that it meant more to me. that you meant more to me, Rylee, than anything I can remember. Ever.”

Just as much as Rylee is damaged Colton is even more so. The only way he thinks he can cope is through living life in the fast lane – fast cars and fast women. Rylee is something he never expected. His breath of fresh air. The only person that breaks the mold. Will he finally be able to give up his philandering ways up for her or give up the one thing that he needs most. Love.

“I don’t know what I want…but whatever this is, I know I want it with you, Rylee.”

All weekend I was consumed by this story.  Forget about highlighting, marking great passages… I read nonstop and devoured both Driven and Fueled in two days. Then I just had to go back and reread them again for this review. As a blogger…who really has time for that?  Not this blogger. But Colton and Rylee’s story is just THAT addicting.

The series is just that deliriously hot and deliciously amazing.  I also loved how music was incorporated and very instrumental in delivering this great story. Most of all, I enjoyed reading about Rylee’s boys and how heartwarming Colton’s approach was and how he treated them.  If that alone doesn’t tell you how much these two belong together then I don’t know what else will. Truly a match made in heaven.

Just when I didn’t think it could get any better…wait til you read book 2, Fueled. Look out for its release August 27th.

The Verdict:

rating-4

About K. Bromberg

K. Bromberg is that reserved woman sitting in the corner that has you all fooled about the wild child inside of her–the one she lets out every time her fingertips touch the computer keyboard. She’s a wife, mom, child rustler, toy pick-er-upper, chauffer, resident web-slinger, LaLaloopsy watching, American Girl doll dressing multi-tasker of all things domestic and otherwise. She likes her diet cokes with rum, her music loud, and her pantry stocked with a cache of chocolate.

K. lives in Southern California with her husband and three children. When she needs a break from the daily chaos of her life, you can most likely find her on the treadmill or with Kindle in hand, devouring the pages of a good, saucy book.

Fueled is K. Bromberg’s second published novel and is the highly anticipated second book of “The Driven Trilogy.” Driven was her well-received debut novel and Book #1 of the series.
