Rook is chasing her dream—film school and a chance at a life beyond the one she ran from six months ago. But before she can become the girl she wants to be, she must deal with the girl she left behind.

Ronin is also chasing his dream—a family of his own and a life away from erotic modeling. And he too, has a past he’s trying to forget. A past that makes Rook question everything about their life together.

Lies, secrets, and shocking truths will rock the foundation Rook and Ronin have built. Can they put the past behind them and move forward together? Or is this just another too good to be true relationship that will crash and burn in the end?

Liezel’s Thoughts:

I would say that this entire series is in my Top 5 of 2013.  I’ve mentioned this before  in my Manic Review how much  I enjoyed this unique story line. There is much to be said about  the intricate relationship among the main characters  too. Spencer, Ronin and Ford  are already a force to be reckoned with.  Adding Rook into the mix  further  strengthens their ties . Together this “team” is  even more unstoppable.

I thought that Rook was fantastic in this book. We get to know so much more  about her past which is quite  appalling yet through it all she  still exhibits so much tenacity and determination.  She does have this vulnerable side but with these three very  important men in her life surrounding her, encouraging her and motivating her she can endure just about anything.

Just like the first two books I enjoyed reading how Ronin and Rook’s relationship continue to evolve. Their passion and love is just as intense although I thought that Ronin in general took a backseat in this book.

“….I’ll fight for us. I’ll fight for us every single time. You’ll never even have to wonder if I’ll be there, because I’ll show the fuck up before that thought can even cross your mind….”

After reading this one I am just going to put it out there and say that I have converted to team FORD. Yeah the guy is weird, complicated, apathetic and nonchalant but when he finds that one person that could most likely change him?  He. Goes. All Out.  He shines through  on  so many occasions I can’t even tell you how impressed I was with him.  As much as anyone this guy deserves his HEA even if things have to become  unconventional – so be it.  In my opinion, there is no other person that could ever come close to what he needs and vice versa.

I also loved how the plot unfolded  in this one. After all Rook has been through I was hanging at the edge of my seat when she decides to take that risk.    It was the raw emotions  in the latter part however that made this  book  standout for me. Hell yeah I ugly cried,  I was a blubbering mess and I absolutely  loved every moment of  it.

I thought that Panic had the perfect balance between suspense, passion and romance and I can not wait to see how the rest of  this story plays out. In my opinion, this entire series is outstanding. A definite must read.

The Verdict:

About J. A. Huss

J. A. Huss likes to write new adult books that make you think and keep you guessing. Her favorite genre to read is space opera, but since practically no one reads those books, she writes new adult science fiction, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, urban fantasy, and books about Junco (who refuses to be saddled with a label).

She has an undergraduate degree in horses, (yes, really–Thank you, Colorado State University) and a master’s degree in forensic toxicology from the University of Florida. She used to have a job driving around Colorado doing pretty much nothing but shooting the breeze with farmers, but now she just writes, runs the New Adult Addiction and Clean Teen Reads Book Blogs, and runs an online science classroom for homeschoolers.

Well, I try not to judge people by their past because we all make stupid mistakes…and I’m sure there is something that would make me walk away. Like molesting a child or something.

Looks have nothing to do with ho hard I work for a relationship.. the skeletons in his closet? It would depend on what they are & how honest he was about them.. The past is the past, we have to overcome it to have a future, but if it follows you & you don’t face it, you won’t have a future until you do! 🙂
