It wasn’t his fault she lay broken and battered. He wasn’t responsible for the injuries covering her bruised body.
Her heart, however, told a different story. She endured the pain of its jagged edges as it shattered against her chest, ripping through the hope she once held. Her spirit was broken, and only one man was to blame for that.
Cassandra Clarke had known better than to trust her all to a man like Logan West. She’d thought he was different—a better man than he’d portrayed to others. A man worth risking it all for.
But she was wrong, and would never make that mistake again.
What happens when you question everything you longed to believe—deny all emotions you still hold for a man unworthy of them?

Faced with Logan’s persistence, Cassandra must find the strength to keep her guard up or risk falling again for the one man her body feels…is irreplaceable.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

“It was you, Cassandra- your heart, your kindness – and before I knew what was happening or had a chance to stop it, I found myself lying in bed at night wanting to hold you. To kiss you, worship you, and finally discover what it was like to make love to a woman.”

Irreplaceable is the follow-up to Inevitable which ended with one maddening cliffhanger. To recap, Cassie was involved in a very bad car accident that lands her in the hospital. Injured and vulnerable, Logan realizes  that Cassie is so much more important to him than he could have ever imagine…

Cassie remains heartbroken with what Logan put her through. She is determined to heal not only her physical injuries alone but also her emotional ones too. She knows that despite how much she feels for Logan she can not risk even more heartache that he could potentially cause. As you know Logan is quite the philanderer. Even  when he repeatedly asks for Cassie’s forgiveness she is not willing to trust. Because of the intensity of what he feels for Cassie he is not willing to give up on her either.

“I’ll prove to you that I can be everything you need everything you always wanted. My heart and soul belong to you, and I’ll wait as long as it takes.”

Logan is ever so patient with Cassie. He knows that given his history that it would take a lot of convincing to show her that he is willing to change. Logan woos Cassie and just when you would think that she would finally start to trust again she changes her mind and runs. This goes on for the first half of the book which I thought was too repetitive.

By the time they get to that point, I expected something monumental to happen but I was left disappointed. Their coupling  was lacking something that I can’t explain.  Through out the entire story I felt disconnected from Logan. The author did describe his emotions of dismay and regret but I just couldn’t feel it.

Despite my issues above,  I am still looking forward to reading Indestructible  – the conclusion of this story of love, acceptance and forgiveness  which is scheduled to be released the first of the  next year.

The Verdict:

rating-3

About Angela Graham

I am happily married to my husband of five years, have three wonderful children and a beautiful feline companion that keeps me company during late night writing binges.

My love of reading has been life long but it was in early 2012 when I was inspired to finally put pen to paper and write my first story. Since then I haven’t been able to stop, fueled purely by my passion to write a story and create characters that readers will enjoy.

New Adult romances are my go to books to read as well as to write. They are young, fresh and full of hope. What’s not to love!
