For years, Cassie Taylor tried to forget about Ethan Holt. He was the one great love of her life, and when he failed to return her love, a part of her died forever. Or so she thought. Now she and Ethan are sharing a Broadway stage, and he’s determined to win her back. Claiming to be a changed man, he’s finally able to say all the things she needed to hear years ago, but can she believe him? What makes this time different from all his other broken promises?

Ethan knows he can’t change their tumultuous past, but if he’s going to have any chance of being with the woman he loves, he’ll need to convince Cassie that her future belongs with him.

Don’t miss this stunning conclusion to the unforgettable love story that captivated over two million fans online.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

I honestly felt torn about reading the follow-up to “Bad Romeo”.  This was because I was left unimpressed with the hero of the story, Ethan.  In the first installment, Ethan puts Cassie through the wringer and it was difficult for me to process his logic behind treating her so callously. What I found fantastic about  “Broken Juliet” was how the author was able to give us an in-depth peek into Ethan’s multifaceted mind which then completely changed my entire opinion.

Ethan’s characters was complicated and complex which made the series more interesting. He had so many issues, in the beginning, I thought he shouldn’t have been in a  relationship in the first place.   When he was able to conquer his personal demons and open up to Cassie completely this is when we finally experience the extent of his feelings. I thought it was fascinating to see that beneath all those layers that he, in fact, has a vulnerable side.

“Do you feel this? This is what makes us keep coming back, despite everything we’ve gone through. This is why I have to change, and why despite how much I hurt you, you can’t walk away. The way we sink into each other. The way I can’t tell my heartbeat from yours. We have this perfect rhythm, whenever we’re together, and that’s the essence of us..”

There were so many things about this book that kept me glued to my seat and immensely enraptured. First, was my need to find out why  Ethan had a change of heart. It was always as if Cassie was far more into the relationship than Ethan. What was the turning point that made him want to become a better person for her? This time around his reasoning behind all his actions was legitimate. I can say that I was 100% satisfied with how he came to his senses.

I was also eager to see how Cassie changed. She was what I would have considered weak then but as the story progressed she became the one with all the power and boy did she exploit it to the MAX. This wasn’t the only think that made her amazing. I admired her for her strength and even her forgiveness. Every single time Ethan broke her down she was able to pick herself up again (of course with the help with her crude but terrific friends) and become so much more.

What was beyond captivating was witnessing this all-consuming “plove” – passion and love so toxic it will drive you insane. It literally gave me goosebumps!  I can not tell you how impressed I was with how the writer was able to transcribe these intense emotions into writing. Nor can I compliment her enough on how detailed she described this couple’s chemistry . I loved that despite having a relationship that destructive that their hearts were always in the right place.

Bottom line is, “Broken Juliet” was an outstanding romance. A read that I would certainly recommend for those looking for well delivered, powerful and oh so potent second chance romance.

The Verdict:

About Leisa Rayven

Writing has always been a passion for Leisa, and even though she originally intended to be an actress, it wasn’t long into her time at drama school that she began writing plays.

Those plays were bad. Very bad. Well, her friends thought they were good, but that’s because they were always cast in them and any opportunity to be on stage was met with an obnoxious amount of enthusiasm.

Since then, she’s honed her craft, and several of her plays have been produced and toured
throughout Australia.

These days, playwriting has given way to fiction writing, and Leisa’s debut novel, BAD ROMEO, will be available in a worldwide release through Macmillan Publishing in December 2014.

Leisa lives in Australia with her husband, two little boys, three cats, and a kangaroo named Howard.

(Howard may or may not be her imaginary marsupial friend. Everyone should have one.)
