My name is Madame X.
I’m the best at what I do.
And you’d do well to follow my rules...

Hired to transform the uncultured, inept sons of the wealthy and powerful into decisive, confident men, Madame X is a master of the art of control. With a single glance she can cut you down to nothing, or make you feel like a king.

But there is only one man who can claim her body—and her soul.

Undone time and again by his exquisite dominance, X craves and fears his desire in equal measure. And while she longs for a different path, X has never known anything or anyone else—until now...

Liezel’s Thoughts:

With a book title like this one, I had certain assumptions about “Madame X”. Practically every single one of my assumptions however never even came close. This sounds like a bad thing, right? In this instance – not at all! Instead of being disappointed I felt  amazed with how Jasinda Wilder delivered  an even better  story than I could ever imagine.

What was fantastic about it was overall complexity especially the characters. The heroine  isn’t like anyone that I have come across before. In a sense, she was a contradictory. We are first introduced to her as a woman that exuded dominance. When she was with a client she displayed a fierceness that had no bounds. Behind closed doors, she was the total opposite. Yes, she was confusing but at the same time very intriguing. Attempting to unravel her character was definitely one of the many reasons that kept me spellbound.

Another reason why I was captivated would be the complicated relations that Madame X was involved in. Caleb, her protector, her savior basically her everything was utterly appalling. I came to hate him with how he treated Madame X but when thinking about it, he too has  many layers and I am excited to see just how far the author is going  to take his character.  I expect that his background story to be significant. A game changer.

I adored her other love interest as well. Even if their meeting was random and the interactions were abrupt you could tell that he genuinely cared  for this mysterious woman that he just met. I saw a lot of potential in their pairing, but I still wasn’t 100% convinced. Which brings me to talk about the cliffhanger…

Yes, there are multiple questions that are left unanswered but you know what… this time around it didn’t bother me one bit. I  felt that “Madame X” was still a good read despite that. It  certainly was a great introduction to this unique, intricate and unexpected new series. A series that I will be following very closely.
