TAHOE ROTH.
Irreverent, cocky, playful and naughty.
He’s not the guy you date.
He’s the one night stand.
The one your mother warned you about.
The one your body craves.

You’d think the man who called me succulent would want to strip me down and spread me out on his bed—like he’s done with countless others.
But he passed on my offer….
Just like I’d once passed on his.
He’s wary, like I am.
He’s broken, like I am.
And everyone knows two broken parts can’t ever make a whole.
Tahoe and I are strictly friends.
So I distract myself with other men.
He doesn’t think my new man is good enough. This blond blue-eyed beast doesn’t think any man is—himself included.
But the more time we spend together, the more confused I feel.
I'm trying to open myself to love.
Yet I'm quickly realizing that the only man I want is Tahoe Roth.
The one man who will surely break my heart.

Q & A Review by Micah, Angie and Liezel

Why did you choose to read this book?

Micah: I LOVE Katy Evans. Real is one of my favorite romance reads ever. I mean, Remy is one of my top book boyfriends. YUMMMM. And Manwhore? YES, please. So when I heard she was writing a new one? Put me on the LIST! Everything she writes is magic on paper.

Liezel: Every single book that I have read by Katy Evan’s so far has been fantastic. She never fails to deliver a great romance and that is why I would never hesitate to pick up anything that she publishes.

Angie: I love Katy Evans and the Manwhore Series! Saint is mine so yeah I didn’t hesitate when I found out that Tahoe was getting his own book and I think I might love him a little bit more but not much. This is my favorite series by her!

How do you feel about the characters in Ladies Man?

Micah: I really liked the chemistry Gina and Tahoe had in the Manwhore books. So I was excited to delve into their characters in this book. Now, let’s get into what I thought about THEM: Gina, I thought was fine. Run of the mill woman character in a romance novel. She was a bit more insecure than I would like, but she’s had some trouble in past relationships.

However, Tahoe was cringe worthy at times. Now, I will say if you like the manwhore type character (not to be confused with Manwhore book series), you will love him. I am just a bit over that “I can’t control my penis and I have to stick it in every vagina. I cannot commit to 1 woman ever.”-type character. Because does it happen in real life? Sure, there may be that person randomly, but it is not as common as these books make it seems. Look at Saint. Sure, he was womanizing (not to be confused with a manwhore), but when he found someone of quality, he settled down. Tahoe is a manwhore. The majority of the book is Gina and Tahoe being friends while Tahoe serves his dick to many, many women. I didn’t enjoy this or his character.

Liezel: Tahoe was difficult to connect with at first. I just couldn’t wrap my head around  how he was basically  apathetic to Gina’s feelings. As we get to know him better, though, I completely began to understand why he acted in such a way. After he got passed his issues, I saw a different side of him emerge. I than began to appreciate his character better.

I admired Gina for her tenacity but on the other hand, there were  times that I felt frustrated with her too. Why couldn’t she just let Tahoe go? I thought she was a nice girl who deserved a man who  accepted her, worship her …but then that’s all a part of the story, isn’t it?

Angie: I love Gina! She’s such a strong, independent woman. Even after being in the wrong relationships and Paul making her feel self-conscious, she remains positive. I love that about her. I also love that even though she lusts after Tahoe that she doesn’t let that keep her from trying to move on with other men. She also acknowledges what Tahoe is and that’s a Ladies Man. She’s not blinded by what he is.

Tahoe is a Viking sex god and a player but that doesn’t keep me from feeling compassion for him and seeing the struggle inside of him. He’s a good guy and we get glimpses of that. He also loves sex. I didn’t get the player vibe from him. I fell in love with his character even at times when I should hate him but I understood him.

Tahoe and Gina as a whole were wow! They have chemistry from the beginning and I cheered for them the whole time! I don’t want to give much away but I will say that it was frustrating at times and I wanted to slap some sense into Tahoe but I also wanted to do the same with Gina. If she only spoke what she was feeling and took a chance. One of my favorite quotes is fitting here.. Tahoe said

“No one is the way they seem. We all hide little pieces, either because we don’t want to be judged, or because we don’t think we’ll be understood, or simply because we don’t want those pieces of us to belong to anyone but us.”

What did you like most about this story? Least?

Micah: Well, obviously I liked Tahoe’s character traits in the beginning of the story least lol. Best? I really liked their friendship. While it was a slow building love (ahem, Tahoe being slutty), it was realistic and once they did fall into it, I believed it. The ending really saved the book for me. There were a ton of light moments and a few really emotionally heavy ones. I feel Katy Evans is the queen of this. Giving you light and heavy moments to give you a perfectly balanced book.

I will say the most reactionary moment of the book where I screamed OUT LOUD (literally) was at 56% (when you get there, you will KNOW), I said “WTF DUDE!!!!” That was a crazy part of the book.

Liezel: Waiting for Tahoe to get it together was the most frustrating thing about this book. When he finally gets to that point however, it was all uphill from there.

Angie: I loved the whole book. I think Katy has a way of writing characters that we aren’t supposed to necessarily love right off but we do anyways. I will say I agree with Micah. I will never forget T-Rex in the wild. That was ummmm.. Yea you just have to read the book to find out! 😉

What do you think about Gina and Roth as a couple?

Micah: I loved their friendship. It reminded me of a few of my friendships with my guy friendships, if you removed the sexual chemistry. It was very easy-going and lovely. And because of that, the romance built very slowly. I do believe that they will stay together after the book ends. I believe in the romance and the couple. I wish we would have gotten more of them together, but c’est la vie.

Liezel: I’ve always thought they would be great together and while the waiting was frustrating in a way it was a good thing since they were able to further develop their friendship which I think is important in any relationship. It was very slow going but when they finally made the leap they were magnificent. I just wished that we got to see more of them in that light.

Angie: I love them together! Absolutely love them! It was rough but necessarily so! I love that it wasn’t insta-love. I love that they were best friends first. It made everything else so worth it!

Would you recommend this book?

Micah: As with any Katy Evans book, hell yes. She is one of the queens of this genre. However, I will say if you haven’t read Manwhore, Manwhore+1, or Ms. Manwhore yet, I would read those first. This CAN be read as a standalone, but the characters in the previously mentioned titles are featured in this one and there would obviously be spoilers to those books. Plus, those books are kick ass. Read them. And all her books. They are awesome.

Liezel: It took awhile for me to get into this book but even so I don’t regret reading it. Katy Evans will always be one of my go-to authors no matter what and who she is writing about.

Angie: Of course I would! I love Ladies Man as much as I did all the other Manwhore books! I agree with Micah if you haven’t read the others I would read them first so you’ll understand the roles of the characters in Ladies Man!

About Katy Evans

Katy Evans grew up with books and book-boyfriends until she found a real sexy boyfriend to love. They married and are now hard at work on their own happily ever after. Katy loves her family and friends, and she also loves reading, walking, baking, and being consumed by her characters until she reaches “The End.” Which is, hopefully, only the beginning…
