I never intended to go to this event but once 2 of my favorite authors were announced I couldn’t resist one-clicking a reservation to Seattle.
Truth is, not only has it been years since I’ve flown but I never flew to a book event EVER. I didn’t know what to expect. I was more anxious than excited as the date got closer. As soon as I got there and caught a glimpse of all these amazing authors in one room all that stress and anxiety immediately disappeared…
And while most of you would think that the highlight of this signing was seeing E.L. James in the flesh, for me, it wasn’t. What I did love most was meeting up with 2 of my virtual book buddies – Shameca and Jackie. Even though our interactions were brief, it was as if I could talk to these women for hours.
As for authors…. the conversations that I will cherish the most was my talks with:
1.Tiffany Reisz – I really needed to know if she has been pitched for a movie deal yet coz her series deserves one!
2. Georgia Cates – I needed to know just how involved her husband is when writing her stories.
3. Nicole Williams – I already knew Collared was done but still… I had to ask in person … “was that REALLY the end?”
I’ve been to many books signings in my years as a blogger and I would have to say that “Emerald City Author Event” was certainly one of my all time favorites. Not only was the venue terrific, it was also well organized and of course the author line-up was beyond spectacular.
Thank you Black Heart Productions for hosting such an amazing event. Let’s do this again @ Mile High!
