The one guy she can’t have is the one she can’t forget.

Liam Quinn is one of the biggest movie stars in the world…and the only man Elissa Holt has ever truly loved.

After being out of her life for six years, he and his gorgeous fiancé are set to star in the new Broadway show Elissa is stage managing. The only trouble is, when late night rehearsals bring Elissa and Liam together, the line between what is and what could have been gets blurred. Now one moment of weakness is about to create a scandal that will echo around the world.

Elissa knows that falling for Liam again would be a tragedy in the making, but as any good romantic knows, love doesn’t always follow the script.

Micah’s Thoughts:

“You can give up on a lot of things in life and still be happy. You can decide that jogging is the work of the devil, or that the super-popular book everyone loves just isn’t for you. Or you can let your gym membership keep ticking over every month without ever stepping foot inside the door. But the one thing you’re absolutely not allowed to give up on is true love.”

I’m torn on what to rate this book, honestly. I really loved the first two books in the series, Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet. The plot and the characters were well developed and believable. This book follows Ethan’s sister and her love interest, Liam.

I really, really did not like Liam for about 80% of the book. I felt him weak and ball-less. I loved every other character, apart from the obvious antagonist I loved Angel, I loved Josh, I loved Elissa. For a while, I wasn’t sure if Angel was really nice or a huge b*tch, but I still wanted to err on the side of liking her.

So, the plot thickens and Elissa is the stage manager of a play where Liam and Angel are the lead actors, basically her worst nightmare. She hasn’t spoken to Liam in years when he left her to move to Hollywood and broke her heart. And to top it all off, Liam and Angel have a reality tv crew following them because are the “it” couple of the moment.

Elissa quickly befriends Angel, works closely with Liam as the stage manager, and all the while, this is breaking her heart. Liam gives her some heated looks, but leaves her with nothing.

This is a second chance romance, but I didn’t even WANT them to get a second chance. One thing I don’t enjoy about second chance romances is that it seems that the men always get to flounce around and be with as many women as they want and the women pine away until they are finally together again. Now, I’m not saying that is what happened here, but that is the appearance here. Liam was engaged to Angel and Elissa just…didn’t date. For years. Is this real life? And Liam and Elissa had 1 night together. One. And they were around each other for two months. They had feelings for each other, but would it have been so difficult to date? I don’t know. Maybe I am just getting frustrated by pining women.

In the end, this book greatly redeems itself, in my eyes. I would give it a solid 3.5. This story isn’t as developed as Bad Romeo or Broken Juliet and the characters aren’t as strong. It has a feeling of instalove, but you do get a nice feeling at the end.

The Verdict:

About Leisa Rayven

Writing has always been a passion for Leisa, and even though she originally intended to be an actress, it wasn’t long into her time at drama school that she began writing plays.

Those plays were bad. Very bad. Well, her friends thought they were good, but that’s because they were always cast in them and any opportunity to be on stage was met with an obnoxious amount of enthusiasm.

Since then, she’s honed her craft, and several of her plays have been produced and toured
throughout Australia.

These days, playwriting has given way to fiction writing, and Leisa’s debut novel, BAD ROMEO, will be available in a worldwide release through Macmillan Publishing in December 2014.

Leisa lives in Australia with her husband, two little boys, three cats, and a kangaroo named Howard.

(Howard may or may not be her imaginary marsupial friend. Everyone should have one.)
