June Mayson and Evan Barrister’s whirlwind courtship resulted in a secret marriage right before he left for boot camp. Evan knows deep in his gut that June is too good for him, but after getting a taste of the beautiful life they can have together, he’s unwilling to let her go. June promises to wait for him, knowing neither time or distance will ever change her feelings for Evan—that is until she’s served with divorce papers while he’s overseas and she’s forced to let him go.

Her marriage and divorce a well-kept secret, the last person June expects to run into when she moves back to her hometown is Evan. Angry over the past, she does everything within her power to ignore the pull she feels whenever he is near. But how can she ignore the pain she sees every time their eyes meet? How can she fight the need to soothe him even if she knows she’s liable to get hurt once again?

Is it possible for June and Evan to find their way back to each other again? Or will they be stopped by an outside force before they ever have a shot?

Micah’s Thoughts:

Until June is the fabulous, scorching second chance romance story of Evan and June (Asher and November’s daughter). And I was so excited to read it. Not only did I love Until November, I also loved Until July!

This book starts off fairly heartbreaking at the beginning. Evan and June have had a previous relationship, in which they were married. Evan broke it off while he was deployed because of traumatic events that happened to him. He didn’t want to “dirty” up June with his dealing or suffering through those events. Of course that left June devastated. June had not shared with her family that she even HAD a relationship with Evan, waiting to share that with them until Evan received leave after boot camp. Instead of her husband returning home, she received divorce papers.

Years past and June finds herself in a dicey situation with the only boyfriend she has gotten close to since Evan, her family thinks she needs protection. Who do they send? Evan! And of course, her cousins. But since they have no idea of their previous relationship, Evan is just a family friend now.
And let the fireworks begin! And OH WOW! Do they!

“‘If we spend all out time going back, we’ll miss the fact for the first time in a long time, we’re both going forward and doing it together.'”

This book has some serious sex scenes that pack some serious punch! They are so panty-melting hot. However, at some point, I felt like there were too many. *Gasp* Did I just say that? Yeah, I think I did. At one point, I was just skimming for dialogue because there were so many. And this wasn’t a particularly long book.

Overall, this book was great. I loved the characters and I really connected to the second chance romance. I am often critical of second chance romances because of how both characters act during the time apart. However, I feel like both characters acted fairly true to who they were in the book. I loved the re-emergence of the family members we’ve grown to love over the previous books, but they didn’t overwhelm June and Evan’s story-line’s.

In the end, I would rate this 4-4.5 stars, lowering it for the redundant sex scenes. However, this was JUST my opinion and you might think WAY differently.

The Verdict:

Excerpt:

He’s beautiful his body is a work of art I want to touch him, I want to know what It feels like to have his bearded face against my delicate skin, I want to know if the rough edges I now see are smooth to the touch.
“June.” My name in his course tone gets my attention but when our eyes meet its not anger he’s looking at me with, its raw, powerful, hungry possessiveness.
