Charm is the key to the world.

Charisma, magnetism, sex appeal—that ‘it’ factor that can’t be described.

Nolan Delany has it is spades.

The infamous Mr. Romantic.

And maybe he is out of my league… But I’m going to give it the old college try anyway. Because I didn’t travel two thousand miles for a job interview at his request just to be put out like trash.

Don’t underestimate me, Mr. Delaney.

I’m really not as innocent as I look.

Angie’s Thoughts:

Mr. Romantic is hot, semi-dark and not your normal romance book. It’s everything that I was looking for and more. I shouldn’t be shocked by what I read by J.A. Huss but with each new book she writes, she continues to shock me. She throws in something that is completely messed up and has your mind blown wondering wth you just read. You never know what to expect and that’s what makes her books different. Every book isn’t the same. Each story is different. Each character. It’s not a cookie-cutter love story and I love that.

I have to say at first I didn’t really like Nolan (Mr. Romantic). He’s not the lovable type. He’s arrogant, cocky, too handsome for his own good and knows that no woman will say no to him just by flashing a smile. I don’t like those types. BUT in true fashion, Julie has a way of making you falling in love with people you think you shouldn’t. I fell for Nolan. Hard. He had me after Chapter 25. Once you read Mr. Romantic then you’ll be questioning my sanity.

“Defiance is defined as open resistance. But a seductive man knows how to turn resistance into reluctance into acceptance.”

I love Ivy from the get go. Being a preacher’s daughter myself, I could relate to her and being raised up in a strict house. I understood her. You can only be sheltered so much before you want to run free and be wild. She’s smart, funny and doesn’t let any man put down her intelligence because she looks so innocent. She also doesn’t put up with Nolan’s bullshit and I love that about her.

“I think I’ll keep my virginity for someone special and go for the job.”

I loved Mr. Perfect but I hate to say this, I love Mr. Romantic more! I love how dark and mysterious it was. I just couldn’t put it down! J.A. Huss’s writing is twisted and demented at times, then she shows a soft spot and we see a different side of her. But don’t let that soft side fool you, she’s still an evil genius that can make you cringe when you least expect it.

I wish I could give Mr. Romantic 10 stars because it deserves so much more than 5!

It seems like each book in the Misters Series keeps getting darker and darker. More mysterious than the one before. I can’t wait for Mr. Corporate!

Liezel’s Thoughts:

Whoo-hoo-hoo! What a wild ride! Mr. Romantic wasn’t anywhere close to what I expected. And this  is one of the many things I love about JA Huss – even after all these years, she is still able to surprise me.

So, what is the second Mister book about? Mr. Romantic is about how a new grad – Ivy Rockwell suddenly gets invited to interview for a job in Nolan Delany’s latest venture. Considering her lack of experience, It is unclear how she is one of the chosen and this is one of the allures of the story – figuring out the how’s and the why’s.

They always say yes. Even when they want to say no, they always say yes.

After that first meeting, it’s as if she falls down a rabbit hole. She is absolutely way out of her league when it comes to EVERYTHING Mr. Romantic. I couldn’t blame her one bit for being hesitant but Nolan  was one persistent man. He would have never let her  get away. No matter what.

Needless to say, this was what made me so uncomfortable! As I pressed on, it made me even more uncomfortable yet  in an entirely different way altogether. My brain kept saying, “you aren’t suppose to be liking this!”, but good grief…I couldn’t help but be “bothered” by it! It’s all too intriguing, really.

Way to push the boundaries JA Huss. What’s next?

About J. A. Huss

J.A. Huss never wanted to be a writer and she still dreams of that elusive career as an astronaut. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.

After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.

So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies all over the world, the audio version of her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie award in 2016 and 2017 respectively, her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018. Johnathan McClain is her first (and only) writing partner and even though they are worlds apart in just about every way imaginable, it works.

She lives on a ranch in Central Colorado with her family.

I do have hard limits when it comes to romance novels, but I don’t mind reading dark books. It just depends on why it is dark.
