What did you think of Stroked Hard overall? What about the series?
Angie: I loved Stroked Hard! I think it was the second funniest in the series. Stroked being the first. Each book was unique to each character and we rarely had any repeat monologue and I loved that! The series overall is fantastic and one of my faves! Meghan just knows how to write a funny but down to earth series that will make you fall in love with each character. The exceptions being Pocket and Bellini.
Liezel: Considering all the absurdities that came out of Hollis’ mouth….I thought it was entertaining! Stroked Hard was hilarious but I have to agree with Angie that the Stoked was still my all time favorite.
What was your favorite quote?
Angie:
“I want to be way more than friends. I want to be best friends, the kind that tell each other everything, the kind that fuck each other on the couch, in the shower, up against the wall. The kind of best friends who think of each other every minute of every day.”
I really wish guys like Hollis exist in real life. I mean he’s absolutely perfect and this quote proves it. There’s another one that he tells Melody he just wants to hold her hand. Nothing else. Something so simple but such a huge turn on. *Sigh
Liezel:
“Let me be the man you deserve, Melony. Let me show you how much you should be treasured.”
The quote Angie chose was also one of my favorites but the one I loved most is this one because it shows just how committed Hollis’ is in making Melony happy.
What did you think of Hollis and Melony?
Angie: I absolutely love Hollis!! Who doesn’t love a hot guy that reads, is monogamous, not a male whore and loves a relationship but also is a romantic at heart?? If you say you don’t then shut the front door! Lol, I also love that he try to hold so much in to protect those he loved the most. He thought if they knew what he was going through it would put more strain on them. I love how he put others before him but like Meghan pointed out that he shouldn’t bear all of that himself.
Melony was a different story. I have a love/hate relationship with her. I understand where she’s coming from. I understand the issues and relate to her on a different level but what I hate is the constant indecisiveness she was going through. From experience sometimes you just have to take that leap and if you fall you just get up, brush yourself off and try again. That’s how we learn in life not only from our accomplishments but also from our failures. When she let go it was beautiful but the indecisive and in her head Melony made me want to scream.
Liezel: Of all the book boyfriends we’ve come across over the years who among them read romance just so they could be cognizant of the female psyche? Like seriously, who does that? HOLLIS DID! The man was romantic down to the core. He was frikkin swoon-worthy. I couldn’t get enough of him! He definitely could soften any woman heart including Melony’s.
I thought Melony was great too. She sure did have some amazing constraint! I couldn’t believe she was able to keep Hollis at arms reach that long but OMG the angst…the angst…was fantastic. In every sense, these two were a perfect couple.
Would you recommend this book?
Angie: Yes I would! I did love Stroked Hard and even though Melony aggravated me at times it just shows how great of a writer Meghan is to be able to get into my mind like that. To let a character affect me that much. Plus if you only buy this book just for Epilogue 2 only it’s completely worth it!! Even though I highly recommend reading the whole book and series! But the ending of that epilogue.. :^o
Liezel: Absolutely!!! Stroked Hard could be read as a standalone but believe me…once you’ve read one you will be instantaneously hooked and end up wanting to read all three. Stroked is such a seriously addicting series. One click this one and be prepared to laugh out loud throughout its entirety.
