He’s a fighter in the rink, but he’s about to learn that playing nice can help you score...

As team captain and enforcer, Patrick O'Doul puts the bruise in the Brooklyn Bruisers. But after years of hard hits, O'Doul is feeling the burn, both physically and mentally. He conceals his pain from his coach and trainers, but when his chronic hip injury becomes too obvious to ignore, they send him for sessions with the team’s massage therapist.

After breaking up with her long-term boyfriend, Ari Bettini is in need of peace of mind. For now, she’s decided to focus on her work: rehabilitating the Bruisers’ MVP. O'Doul is easy on the eyes, but his reaction to her touch is ice cold. Ari is determined to help O'Doul heal, but as the tension between them turns red hot, they both learn that a little TLC does the body good...

Liezel’s Thoughts:

Sarina Bowen does it again! She delivers yet another swoony, sexy as sin, sports romance. Every single one of her books that I’ve read is highly addictive and Patrick and Ari’s story isn’t any different.

Patrick O’Doul is the captain and main enforcer of the Brooklyn Bruisers. Considering he is captain of the team you would expect him to be friendly, outgoing and sociable yet for some reason he has these high walls built around him. Literally, no one could touch him. This changes, however, when he is mandated to visit the team’s yogi and masseuse – Ari  Bettini.

Ari  Bettini absolutely loves her job. Being a part of the Brooklyn Bruisers couldn’t have been a better fit for her.  The appreciation that she receives from every single one of the players has been overwhelming except when dealing with Patrick.

What was interesting about this story was figuring out what was it that made Patrick this way and how someone like Ali would get him over his predicament. I didn’t expect for things to get any more complicated than that but Sarina surprises us with so much more than a great romance.

Between the romance, suspense,  and hockey technicalities she provided such a well-balanced story. Seeing how the camaraderie evolves not only among the players but also between the couples and the rest of the staff is what will have me coming back for more.
