The thrilling conclusion to Crown of Lies from New York Times Bestseller, Pepper Winters

TWO YEARS
Since my life changed for the second time and not necessarily for the better. Two years since I traded prison bars for streets and hunted a runaway who I'd met in an alley.

TWO DAYS
Since I forgot how to lie, woke to fists, and chased after the girl who'd been stolen from me.

TWO HOURS
To save her, rescue her, keep my lies intact. She looks at me full of hate. I look at her full of confession.

TWO MINUTES
For our relationship to switch from mutual dislike to floundering with unknowns. I've hurt her. Now, she's hurt me. I guess we're even.

TWO SECONDS
For her to listen, to see, to finally know who I am. The answer comes with hardship. The answer isn't what she wants to hear.

TWO BREATHS
For me to walk out the door.

TWO HEARTBEATS
For it all to be over.

Angie’s Thoughts:

Throne of Truth is a riveting book of lust, lies, suspense, and what the truth does once it’s told. It’s about love, friendship, betrayal, and heartache. But amongst all those, it’s about forgiveness.

Pepper picks up where she left us at the end of Crown of Lies. What a beginning it was. I didn’t expect to almost have a heart attack within the first few chapters but that’s exactly what happened and it didn’t stop there. Throne of Truth was full of revelations. Some you couldn’t believe and others you were waiting to hear since Book 1.

We see a different side of Penn in this book and I don’t know exactly how much I liked it. I know he went through a lot and he wanted to protect Elle but sometimes he just got on my nerve. What man doesn’t though? I loved the sweet, passionate side and I even loved the manic side at times but other times I wanted to tell him to chill the hell out. I know he meant well but geeze dude. Calm. The. Fuck. Down.

We also saw a different side of Elle too and I LOVED it! She was strong, independent. So sure of herself and she wouldn’t let anyone or any situation get the best of her. Even when things were bad and I mean really bad, her mentality stayed strong. I don’t know how she did it. It would’ve broken me.

She was Penn’s strength. His voice of reason. His calm before the storm. Elle showed Penn what love was and what the consequences of his lies caused. The time they lost because of his stubbornness and actions.

Pepper’s writing is superb and I swear she has a whole army of characters that take over her body and mind when she writes. You forget that you’re reading and you get so caught up in the drama that is Elle and Penn that you’re living it right along with them. Crown of Lies is my own personal reality show. Who needs tv when you have writers like Pepper to immerse you in their characters?

Thieves can become saints. Saints can become thieves. Most of us deserve a second chance.

About Pepper Winters

Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero, the better, and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex… her books have sex. 
She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends.
Her debut book Tears of Tess will be followed with Quintessentially Q. You didn’t think Q could stop so soon, did you? Her other two titles, Last Shadow and Broken Chance will be coming soon
