The king in my world fell and a new one slid into place.
He wasn’t just.
He wasn’t FAIR.
He was cruel and hateful and twisted.

But I had this black king figured out.
Or so I thought.

The game became complicated because my black king had some new moves and one of those involved my heart. Hope trickled in for the briefest of moments.

That is, until my black king and my heart sided against me. Those two didn’t play FAIR. They used me as their pawn in a bigger game—a game I didn’t know how to play.

The laws changed. I didn’t play by their rules anymore, for the queen makes up her own.

I am not a pawn.
I am not theirs to use and abuse.
I belong to nobody.

There are new players on the board and they don't play FAIR either. But the white king does know how to treat his queen. And together, they will make them pay.

All’s FAIR in love and war, right?
Definitely not this time.

Angie’s Thoughts:

It’s so hard to review a book that you can’t really talk about because the author threatened you. Yes threatened. Even though I really don’t mind her threats. I mean to meet my favorite author regardless if she were to tie me up would be priceless!!

Now onto the book. This book was WOW!! Mind-blowing fucking twisted wth wow!! My mind is still spinning from what I read.

Of course, we know This Isn’t Fair, Baby is Vee’s story. What I didn’t expect to find was someone that has seen horrible things from childhood and was molded into a person who would rule a kingdom like a queen. Her story is filled with sadness, hope, and joy that you can’t help but love her.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, K. Webster is an evil genius who loves torturing her readers slowly. Each book in this series, I feel, is leading up to something terrible and Kristi is laughing with joy all along the way.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

Have you ever felt this intense sorrow when you find out that one of your favorite series is coming to an end? This is how I feel right here, right now especially after reading the maddening Epilogue.

Every single one of the couples in these books have made their mark and the couple featured in this book aren’t any different. There is so much to love about this couple. I loved that they had a history.

Even if their first (innocent) encounter was brief, it triggered those crucial sequence of events. There isn’t a doubt that these two were fated. And I am simply amazed how K. Webster was able to pull it all together.

Another thing that I appreciated was the unpredictability. Up until the very end she keeps you guessing. Yes, at times, I could say this is pure evil. Just when you think it’ll end one way she would so the complete opposite of what is expected. Who does that? K. Webster is who! This is what makes her stand out from all the rest.

I’ve said this once before….everything about this series is fantastic. A series that I undoubtedly will be reading repeatedly in the years to come.  If you are a fan of dark romance add this one to your list. I assure you, you will become just as obsessed as I am.
