Angie’s Thoughts:

I struggled really hard giving The Knight 2 stars. I really loved The Bandit. It was my first book by B.B. Reid and I was so excited for The Knight until I read it.

This book should’ve taken me 2 hours tops to read it but instead took me 2 days. TWO DAYS of my life because I struggled to get not DNF it. The story felt rushed. The plot had me so confused that I thought I was reading a completely different book then the second book in a duet. There were two many things being introduced at one time and sometimes that can make or make a book. I also feel like Ms. Reid put in a lot of fillers so the book wouldn’t be short and sweet. I would’ve rather had a longer Bandit book than the mess of The Knight.

Mian went from a strong character who would do anything to protect her child to a whiny little toddler that, I think, her child could protect her better. I started skipping over her parts because she was so annoying. Also, I get she hates Angel. We do not constantly need to be reminded that she hates him every other sentence.

Angel wasn’t the man I fell in love with in the first book. His self-control was gone. His fight. His darkness. He became a lovesick man I no longer recognized. I read A LOT of dark romance and I know a man can still stay dark and brooding and still be in love.

Anyways, despite all this, I’m going to give her another chance. I’m hoping the demand of The Knight by her fans influenced how this book was written.

About B.B. Reid

B.B., ALSO KNOWN as Bebe, found her passion for romance when she read her first romance novel by Susan Johnson at a young age. She would sneak into her mother’s closet for books and even sometimes the attic. It soon became a hobby, and later an addiction, influencing her life in a positive way.

Bebe is fresh out of undergrad college and has always wondered about the existence of her talent. When she finally decided to pick up a metaphorical pen and start writing, she found a new way to embrace her passion.

She favors a romance that isn’t always easy on the eyes or heart, and loves to see characters grow–characters who are seemingly doomed from the start but find love anyway.

Fear Me, her debut novel, is the first of many.
