Rocked Up is a STANDALONE rockstar romantic comedy and the fun and sexy brainchild of New York Times bestselling author Karina Halle and her husband Scott Mackenzie.

I have been watching him since I was a child.

He didn't notice me back then and it didn't matter. Brad Snyder, guitarist and singer for one of the world's greatest bands, was my entire life.

My father, the CEO of Ramsey Records, takes credit for all of Brad's success, trying to control him in the same way he's controlled me.

But I finally get an opportunity to prove myself.

To be wild.

To be free.

Today I'm auditioning to be the replacement bass player for Brad's band. If I get the job, I'll go on tour and work with Brad every day, in very close proximity.

There's only one rule: he's not allowed to touch the boss's daughter.

Remember when I said that Brad never used to notice little ol' me?

Well, Brad's noticing me now.

In a way that's going to get us both in trouble.

My name is Lael Ramsey and we all know how this will turn out.

Angie’s Thoughts:

I love Karina so when I heard that she and her husband were writing a book together I was beyond excited. I loved the premise and knowing a little bit about Scott’s background, I knew this book would make his talent shine.

First off I want to say I’m absolutely in love with Lael!! She’s such a badass, strong female lead that I looked forward to reading her parts of the story. Her energy and bravery shined through the pages of Rocked Up and you couldn’t help but catch the high of it.

I loved Brad too. I could tell this was Scott’s second book and it’s not necessarily bad. Some parts were more descriptive and made me feel distant from the character while other parts you could feel the passion behind his writing. Those parts outweighed the bad and combined with Lael, it made for a nice enjoyable, hot, emotional read.

I look forward to reading more by Scott. He has potential there. I just think he needs to find his passion. In this book it was music. That passion showed above anything else.

There’s not much I can say about Karina. I love her writing and I honestly feel bad for saying anything about her husband.

If you’re in the mood for sweet, sexy, sometimes funny, sometimes sad read with a hot, bad ass bass player and an equally hot, jaw-dropping lead singer then Rocked Up is the book for you!

The Verdict:

Liezel’s Thoughts:

It has been some time since I’ve read a Rock Star Romance and so I was very excited to get my hands on this book especially since it was co-written by no other than Karina Halle! As expected I became completely immersed from the very beginning.

Brad Snyder had such a rough childhood (if you could call it that) and he was one of those guys that you wanted to succeed. And as soon as he got his big break I cheered him on. Despite all the success though he was missing something. Someone to share his good fortune with…

This is where the bosses daughter steps in….Lael. Lael in all sense rocked Brad’s world and not just in a physical sense but in a musical sense too. At first I was anxious to see if she was able to fit in Brad’s life but no worries there. They fit perfectly.

My only gripe about this book was that their story  lacked “oomph”. It took me awhile to figure it out what was exactly missing… and I’ve come to the conclusion that it was a lack of passion which is absolutely necessary in any great romance.

Being that this is the first book written by this husband and wife team, I am excited to see  where they go from here. Overall, I thought it was an acceptable romance with so much  potential. I would recommend this one for someone looking for a fast and easy read.

The Verdict:

This is their first venture as a writing team. A lot of music was played. A lot of laughs were had. A lot of sex was…put in the book!
