They say the king is the most powerful piece on the board.
However, they haven’t met me.
This queen knows all the rules. She plays the game better than him.
In my game, the queen can knock the king right off the board.
But, I love him.
The darkness threatens to make me lose sight of my strategy from time to time, but in the END, love always prevails.
Problem is, my black king is playing by a different set of rules. His END game is one he shields from me. It’s a game he plays closely with the white king, the most brilliant player of all. Together, they want to END my game.
They want to END me.
This queen doesn’t go down without a fight.
This queen makes her own rules.
This queen will outsmart those who play against her.
This is the END, baby.
In the END, I am going to win it all.
Q & A By Liezel & Angie
What is it about this series that you loved so much?
Liezel: I loved every single thing about it. The best thing that stood out the most were the characters especially Hannah. We meet so many remarkable characters along the way but she is always the one person that pulls everyone centerfold. What makes her so unforgettable is how you come to hate her then at the very end you start feeling the complete opposite.
Angie: Like Liezel, I loved everything. The characters. The writing. The hate. The tears. The joy. All the emotions. I loved how Liezel and I bonded over this series. How our friendship blossomed over a dark, sadistic series and we were addicts waiting for our next fix (in this instance the next book.) We are Krazies for life but more importantly sociopaths. Thanks, Kristi!
Is there anything that you would change about the series?
Liezel: I honestly was dreading this book. I became so attached to these characters that I knew it would be hard to say the final “goodbye”. That being said, I hate that it has to end. These characters have become like family and I wish it could go on forever.
Angie: I wouldn’t change anything because I know that our beloved characters will never grow old but their kids will. I already see little Land being just like his daddy. Can we say “New Series” please???? Even though they’re “gone”, they’re really not because we can keep reading about them over and over. Kristi created this beautiful, dark world that will forever be in our minds and for that I’m indebted to her.
Did it end as expected?
Liezel: That’s a big fat NO. That is the beauty of K. Webster’s work – she’s unpredictable. This is definitely another reason why I’ve become so hooked to this series. Seven books later and I still couldn’t predict the outcome. I don’t want to spoil it for you but what I can tell you is that the ending is superb. I couldn’t ask for a better finale.
Angie: No!! Who would see THAT ending coming??? I mean …. in … doing … with … Come on!!!! Kristi is like Christmas. When you read one of her books you never know what to expect
WHO would you recommend this book for?
Liezel: I would recommend it for people who appreciate a very well written dark romance. One that is in every way unique. This is one of those series that will stay with me forever.
Angie: My sister, neighbor, the virgin girl, and priest down the street. Hell, everyone, I come in contact with. I don’t care if you’re old, young, a baby or not even born. I’ll gift the copy to you at the baby shower for when you get old enough. EVERYONE has to read this series! Without reading the whole series you can’t read this one and that maddens me. I can’t pinpoint it exactly. Let’s just say you better read these books.
