These Royals will ruin you.

Easton Royal has it all: looks, money, intelligence. His goal in life is to have as much fun as possible. He never thinks about the consequences because he doesn’t have to.

Until Hartley Wright appears, shaking up his easy life. She’s the one girl who’s said no, despite being attracted to him. Easton can’t figure her out and that makes her all the more irresistible.

Hartley doesn’t want him. She says he needs to grow up.

She might be right.

Rivals. Rules. Regrets. For the first time in Easton’s life, wearing a Royal crown isn’t enough. He’s about to learn that the higher you start, the harder you fall.

 Angie’s Thoughts:

I’ve been pondering how to write this review for hours as I know for some of the things I’m going to say is going to be widely unpopular and met with dislike but here it goes…  Fallen Heir has been a book I’ve been dying to read for months now. I had fallen in love with Easton a little more each time we saw him in the other books and I really thought Ella had him pretty much on the straight and narrow. This book set him back to the very beginning.

I loved seeing glimpses of Ella, Val and even smaller of Reed. I loved Easton’s friends. Pash was a comedic relief much-needed in a very serious toned book. The writing was flawless and I would expect both less of Erin Watt.

I loved being inside Easton’s head but have you heard that being inside someone’s head for too long you start losing the respect and love you once had for that person? Yea that’s what happened to me. I started losing respect, love, interest in the book. The story started slowing for me. I needed a reprieve.

Then comes Hartley which I thought would break up the monotony of thoughts. I found that I didn’t like her too well and I think it’s because I couldn’t connect with her character. Why you ask? Because in Fallen Heir I think it should’ve been dual POV’s instead of one. I would’ve loved to know her thoughts and why she was doing it.

I think honestly I just expected more but that’s ok. I really did enjoy the book. The last 40% started picking up and I couldn’t put my kindle down. In fact, even though I found myself bored at times I still didn’t put my kindle down. True to Erin Watts fashion they do know how to write a book and keep you engrossed even if you think you’re not.  I also want to note that the ending…smh..I don’t know what to say about it.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

The Royals Series never fails to grab my attention and the 4th book Royal Heir isn’t any different. In the beginning, I became so caught up in Easton Royals world as he navigates his senior without his brother Reed. We witness Easton him at his worse – overconfident, selfish, arrogant… immature. It was so easy to hate him but I knew things were likely to change if he found the right person to change for.

Hartley Wright had that potential. She was so different from any of the girls that Easton normally goes for. What I found most striking about Hartley was her mystery.  This is one of the two things that kept my attention – discovering Hartley’s life story and waiting for that pivotal point where she influences Easton to become better.

There was so much to learn about Hartley but does that change in Easton that I was most looking forward to ever happen? A third into the book? No. Halfway perhaps? No. Does it happen two-thirds into the book? Nope and this is where I become impatient and honestly, annoyed. I felt that I was basically going around in circles. This is difficult for me to say considering how much I loved the first three books in the series.

The question is…. Will this prevent me from reading the next book  Cracked Kingdom? Absolutely not. Not only will I be waiting with bated breath for Easton’s epic, redeemable moment but I am just dying to know the truth behind the life- altering secrets mentioned at the very end.
