A new story of dangerous temptations from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the This Man trilogy.

Annie has never experienced the 'spark' with a guy-that instant chemistry that renders you weak in the knees. That is, until a night out brings her face to face with the dangerously sexy and mysterious Jack. It's not just a spark that ignites between them. It's an explosion. Jack promises to consume Annie, and he fully delivers on that promise.

Overwhelmed by the intensity of their one night together, Annie slips out of their hotel room. She is certain that a man who's had such a powerful impact on her must be dangerous. She has no idea that he belongs to another. That he's forbidden.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

Jodi Ellen Malpas” The Forbidden was one of my most anticipated reads for August. I expected so much and it’s difficult to say this considering how much I adore this author but  I was slightly disappointed with this book.

It wasn’t because it was lacking in the romance and chemistry department.  From the very first encounter, Jack and Annie had that in spades but what was frustrating for me was the multitude of character flaws especially on Jack’s part.

Sure I was enticed by the desire to know… “How something so wrong could be so right?” aspect. I was definitely plagued with the thoughts of when was cheating ever admissible.  I do have to admit when I discovered the reasons behind Jack’s actions I first felt empathy but that immediately transformed into aggravation because of his … the best word to describe it is – weakness.

There are other reasons behind my disappointment but this is the most important  I need to mention. The question is, would I recommend reading this book? Absolutely, it was entertaining enough. The end was good and my opinion is just one of many. Perhaps it just wasn’t my cup of tea. Read it and let me know what you think…

The Verdict:

About Jodi Ellen Malpas

British talent Jodi Ellen Malpas sold hundreds of thousands of e-books of her passionately erotic trilogy This Man before landing a major US publishing deal and sailing straight to the top of the New York Times bestsellers chart in a few short months. Success quickly followed in the UK, with thousands of readers falling head-over-heels for the devastatingly handsome Lord of the Manor Jesse Ward and his feisty counterpart, Ava O’Shea, as all three books became major Sunday Times bestsellers. This was followed by further success with her second series One Night, which introduced the irresistibly enigmatic M.

Jodi was born and raised in the Midlands town of Northampton, England, where she lives with her two boys and a beagle. She is a self-professed daydreamer, a Converse and, mojito addict, and has a terrible weak spot for Alpha Males.
