He's a troubled young actor, Hollywood's newest heartthrob, struggling with fame as the star of the latest superhero franchise. Through scandal after scandal, addiction on top of addiction, a flurry of paparazzi hunt him as he fights to conquer his demons.

She's a single mother, assistant manager at a grocery store, existing in monotony with her five-year-old daughter. Every day when she goes to work, lurid tabloids surround her, the face of a notorious bad boy haunting her from their covers.

A man and a woman, living vastly different lives, but that wasn't always the case. Once, they were just a boy and a girl who bonded over comic books and fell in love unexpectedly.

When Kennedy Garfield met Jonathan Cunningham back in high school, she knew he had all the makings of a tragic hero. With stars in his eyes, and her heart on her sleeve, the pair ran away together to follow their dreams.

But dreams, sometimes, turn into nightmares.

Now, years later, the only thing they share is a daughter—one who has no idea her father plays her favorite superhero. But Jonathan is desperate to make amends, and at the top of his list is the woman who gave up everything for him and the little girl he hasn't yet met.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

Ghosted is about how a  very young couple finds true love in one another but horrendously lose each other and eventually find it again in such an EPIC way.

Jonathan Cunningham was always meant for better and brighter things. Kennedy Garfield knew this and supported her man all the way. Leaving their small town behind, they end up in the City of Stars. They started off as barely making ends meet but when Johnny finally gets his break everything about them falls apart.

Honestly, it was difficult to witness Johnny’s decline and how badly it affected Kennedy but JM Darhower surely made up for it in his comeback. I seriously hated him for what he did to Kennedy but that completely changed when we witness his mature, caring and loving side – a complete transformation. He was still struggling to get past his demons but that only made him more likable and real.

It was heartwarming how he not only wooed his little girl but his baby mama too.  I loved how he was so down to earth around her and how she was never affected by the glitz and the glamor. The makeup from the breakup was absolutely fantastic! The chemistry and passion were perfect to where I found it ridiculous how they managed to stay away for that long. However, it sure did make a great story!

I thought that the flow was seamless. I do have to admit that at first, I did have issues when the author switched to a third person, past tense POV but after I got used to the idea it became one of my sought after elements in the story. It was such a unique way of bringing forth memories into the present.

Ghosted was written to be a stand alone but I can not help but wish that JM Darhower considers writing more stories involving these characters. They’ve certainly made their mark! Jack and perhaps Meghan’s story? cough*cough

If you are searching for a first love/ second chance/Hollywood romance that consists of all around remarkable and spunky characters? Stop looking because this book is definitely  THE ONE!
