Ashes to ashes.
Dust to dust.
And all that fucking shit.
I had killed.
I had sacrificed.
The innocent and the corrupt. I knew blood and I knew violence.
Never imagining I could know love too.
Mia Ryder was a woman to love. To cherish. To fucking claim. Now, forever, and
every day in between.
If there was anyone I’d go to Hell and back for, it was her.
Even if it meant, going to war with…
My fucking brother.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

The Road To Nowhere is about a inopportune, fated  love that became apparent early on. For Mia, she was eleven while Creed was well into his twenties. Obviously, there were so many elements that could have been overwhelmingly awkward with this entire situation but M. Robinson threaded those boundaries with perfection and great subtlety.

The second book in the series picks up immediately where the first left off with Mia in a dangerously somber situation. The stress would push anyone over the top but Mia handled everything with ease and a degree of maturity way beyond her years. I expected her to be frustrated with Creed but in his defense, everything he did was for her benefit.

As a matter of fact, it was as if his sole mission in life was to benefit her – to become worthy of her. That road for both of them was extremely rough…

I know there are a million reasons why we shouldn’t be together, but it doesn’t matter anymore. You’re fuckin’ mine. You been mine since you gave me that first patch, bouncin’ around, wearin’ pigtails, actin’ like you grown…”

There were multiple times where my emotions got the best of me yet that is one of the things I loved about M. Robinson’s storytelling. The way she describes her characters feelings  never fails to resonate in every fiber of your being. When Mia or Creed (especially Creed) felt regret and pain, I was right there along with him.

I thought it was remarkable how she incorporated characters from her previous series into this story. I do have to admit, that I haven’t read any of those earlier books but the mere mention of them  piqued my interest for which I am now determined to go back and read more about them.

If you are into intense, MC Romances especially those that contain swoony, alpha male heroes than this is the series for you. I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn’t ask for a better ending for this unlikely couple.

The Verdict:
