Working the night shift at a five-star hotel in downtown Los Angeles, I get my fair share of weirdos. But none of them prepared me for the night I met Bolt. He saved my life.
Now, he's my super hero--the hunk I'm yearning to thank in more creative ways than a damn kiss on the cheek. Too bad he's actually Reece Richards, my full-on nerd of a real-life boss.
He's got some commitment issues thanks to his evil ex and global empire--and from having to save the city from a maniac out to destroy everything he loves.
But there's something that just may interfere with all those plans. My heart.
Liezel’s Thoughts:
I can’t even imagine how difficult it is to write romance that revolves around a Super Hero. This, in particular, was the reason why I choose to read this book. And I have to say after reading Misadventures With A Super Hero, not only have I been enticed to read more of the series but also read other stories penned by Angel Payne.
There are so many components that I found interesting. Most of which was about the Super Hero himself – uncovering the backstory – the “why and how” a billionaire, tycoon named Reese Richards becomes The Bolt, figuring out his powers and what he actually does with said powers.
Then, of course, there is the sexy, hot and smoldering love story with the heroine – Emmalina Crist. She isn’t anything like Reece but another appeal is seeing how they make it “work”. As expected the EPIC superhero reveal was the kicker of this relationship.
Overall, I thought the concept was terrific. It was a little heavy on the sex ( which isn’t necessarily a bad thing ) but the action sequences and suspense somewhat balanced it out. Looking for something unique in the realm of romance and science fiction then give Misadventures With A Super Hero a try!
The Verdict:
Angel Payne
Liezel, I am so grateful for your feedback on the book, especially because it was so well though out and truly considered. I know that time is the most precious commodity, and I’m thankful you spent some of yours with Reece and Emma. I hope that you’ll join them again when the entire Bolt Series debuts in June 2018!
