Lucia Vega is on a winning streak.
Her book, Throw Away the Key has taken the country by storm.
And now it’s being made into a movie.
After years of chasing it, she can finally taste freedom.

Reece Carras is one of the most powerful men in Hollywood.
Handsome, rich and generous, he’s everything girls like her aren’t supposed to dream of.
But dream she does. And in his strong arms she finds a freedom she never even knew existed.

Falling in love is the easy part…
Cruel twists of fate and torn loyalties will make staying together seem impossible.
Sacrifices will have to be made.
And they will learn that blood may be thicker than water,
But nothing is more powerful than two hearts that beat for each other.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

Thicker Than Water is a story about a first-time writer, Lucia Vega whose controversial story catapults to the top of the charts making her an immediate international sensation.  She has been approached by world-renowned magazine for interviews, TV show appearances and offered movie deals. Basically, everyone wanted a piece of Lucia but she isn’t  at all easy to persuade.

As president of Artemis Films, my first thought was Reece Carras’ primary intentions was the chase. To be able to sign the practically unsignable would have done wonders for his company but as you delve further into the story what she could do for his reputation is just a minor factor. As much as Throw Away the Key was a personal crusade for Lucia it is the same for Reece.

Thicker Than Water isn’t your ordinary love story. There was so much knowledge gained from it. I thought the legalities mentioned about certain immigration laws was interesting alone than tack on the details on how movies are created from conception, I was caught up in all of it.

As I was reading how Lucia book Throw Away the Key was slowly transforming into a movie,  I too imagined Thicker Than Water itself being made into a movie. It was just that moving! What I loved most about it was not only was it about a fated couple finding and fighting for each other but it brought forth a socio-economic awareness.

Reading what Lucia Vegan story will make you pause for a minute and have you contemplate about all the small and simple things that we take for granted in life. Depth? Yes, this story definitely had it in spades.

The Verdict:
