Some would say I have a privileged life. Daughter of the current President of the United States, wealthy, famous, and all things that some girls wish they had.

Only I'd dream of having a simple life. A life where I wasn't marrying the scariest man I have ever met. Well, I thought I had just met him, but it turns out, there's so much I don't know about myself. That's all thanks to a past so twisted, so warped, that no amount of money, or presidential status could wipe it clean.

I'm the rebel child. Or as some may see it, the disappointment. I’ve never cared about expensive wedding gowns, or how much someone paid for a tailored suit. I don’t care if your wedding dress is from Walmart, or if it’s from some fancy, upscale designer line.

So why am I marrying the devil dressed in a thousand-dollar suit?

I'm about to find out how I got here. To marrying one of the most powerful men in the country. The road to finding out, though, is paved with darkness, painted with the blood of innocents, and it leads my ass straight to hell. Only this hell is a multi-million-dollar penthouse suite in New York City where Bryant Saint Royal, sits on his throne

Q & A Review by Liezel & Angie

As fas as dark romance goes, how dark would you say Crowned By Hate is?

Liezel: It started out like an ordinary contemporary romance for me and only ended up being dark towards the end.  Honestly, I expected it to be darker especially considering how dark the cover appeared but I say this… the way the story ends sets up the next book nicely for an ever better mindfuck.

Angie: It’s not really that dark. There are some added elements to try to make it dark but for someone who reads A LOT of dark reads this was like reading a nursery rhyme. Now for those who don’t then they’ll find this book disturbing. I agree with Liezel about the ending. The next book should be a trip down the rabbit hole.

What are your thoughts about the characters?

Liezel: At first glance Isa was basically a Paris Hilton – a rich, spoiled, entitled socialite. As we progress through the book however she made me realize just how complex the mind can be.

Bryant character was confusing to me. This was because I couldn’t figure out his intentions. It was only when his POV halfway through the book that I understood and appreciated his character.

Angie: I agree with Liezel about Isa. I didn’t like her at first and the more I read the more I liked her. She confused me at times and that was only amplified by the ending.

Bryant was an alpha I couldn’t stand at first. I couldn’t even find a connection with him until a little half way through the book. He grew on me though and by the end I loved him.

Did you think the pairing between Isa and Bryant worked?

Liezel: Based on what I’ve read so far their relationship was “complicated” but it was what worked for them at the time. Bryant was determined to make things work but only time will tell, really. I sure will be rooting for them!

Angie:  Hell at this point I don’t know anything anymore. I’m not sure if I even read the book. If I did then no not at first it was terrible but as the book progressed then yes.

What did you like and dislike about this book?

Liezel: I loved that it was unpredictable. The last chapter was mindblowing. Nothing that I would have ever expected at all. It took me a bit to process but after I got over my initial shock I was completely amazed with Amo’s creativity.

Of course, the “dislike” would be the cliffhanger. There were so many unanswered questions it feels like the series can go on forever which I wouldn’t mind at all, it’s just that good!

Angie: I also loved the unpredictability of the book. It took me awhile to warm up to the characters and the book was a slow burn for me but once I got over that hump I really enjoyed it.

I’m still in shock over the ending. I don’t know how to process my feelings about it yet. I know I can’t wait for book 2.

Would you recommend reading Crowned By Hate?

Liezel: As much as I loved Amo Jones’ Elite King’s Club Series I loved this even more! The intricate plot and complex characters especially Isa fascinated me. Despite the cliff, I still would recommend this book. Having read  Amo Jones’ work before – I know she will make it more than worth the wait in the end. I just hope we won’t have to wait that long to read more of this highly addictive series.

Angie: This is my first book by Amo and even though I had a love/hate relationship with this book I would recommend it. I think the second book is going to be even better and I can’t wait for that!!

The Verdict:
