Griffin has just popped the question—yes, that question—and Michael doesn’t have an answer. He flees town for New Orleans to see his confidante and sometime-Domme, Mistress Nora. Will a weekend of beignets and beatings help him untangle his knotted-up heart?

Thus begins Michael's Wings, the eponymous novella that kicks off the latest entry in Tiffany Reisz's LAMBDA Literary Award-winning* Original Sinners series.

This companion collection to fan-favorite The Angel also contains six previously-published stories starring Mistress Nora's favorite angel and Griffin—his master, his true love, and the sexy-as-hell bane of Michael's existence.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

Have you ever read a book where as soon as you are done you want to go back and binge-read the entire series all over again? This is that series for me. It isn’t just the kink that peeks my interest but more so the intricate relationships between Michael and Griffin and that of Nora and the people within her inner circle.

Michael’s Wings is a collection of six short stories that occur throughout the entire series and while they mostly revolve around Michael and Griffin life together Nora makes her presence known in these stories. What I love most was how the author made the stories about her but really not about her.

I know that sounds vague but if you’ve followed the series closely you would completely understand where I am coming from. Nora certainly is the Queen of Saturn (as mentioned in this book) or perhaps the better comparison is the Sun since all of the characters orbit around her existence.

More about Michael and Griffin… Given the difference in upbringing, social status, and the age difference I expected that they would have numerous up’s and downs yet because of this immense love they possess for each other they get past every single hurdle every time.  I love that even if Griffin is the DOM in the relationship,  young Michael has the power do completely annihilate Griffin.

The level of love and commitment these men have rival any MM (vanilla or otherwise) relationship that I’ve ever come across in fiction before. These two in bed,  or on the new leather couch or the floor is smoldering hot. Like seriously, how the narrator – Guy Locke was able to enunciate each sentence without becoming all flustered is beyond me.

Guy Locke’s voice is like butter. The way he was able to switch between Griffin and Michael’s parts was impressive. I loved how he was able to portray the playfulness between the featured couple and even demonstrate to us exactly how fun-loving, spirited and witty Nora is.  I am curious to see if the authors narrators do just as an amazing job as he did.

Most people read  Christmas classics during the holidays but not this romance book fanatic.  I am certain that Tiffany Reisz fans would agree with me … Michael’s Wings is 100%  the perfect Christmas holiday read. If you are familiar with any book in the series, read this one. I guarantee you will love it as much as I did.
