“I need a reason to exist.”

Beautiful, intelligent, independent, strong-willed, wealthy—Lilith Fontenot seems by all appearances, to have it all. But that’s not how the highest paid prostitute in New Orleans sees herself.

A stain on society. A scourge. A waste. Outsider. Prisoner…

Any idyllic dream of the normal life she may have once imagined, Lilith buried long ago. Her only plan now is survival.

But mob boss Nico Santelli and community center owner Soti Christos have not given up on Lilith. Each has his own very specific, very opposing, plans for her, and neither will rest until it becomes a reality.

WHORE is a singularly bracing take on an ancient tale of tireless love, betrayal, and the possibility of redemption.

Q & A by Liezel & Angie

What did you like and dislike about Whore?

Angie: I loved the whole book. I know that sounds so cliche but I really did. I love how Lili and Soti were their own individuals before finding one another. How it’s a slow burn and Soti proved to Lili that she was more than just a whore to him. I loved how the sex scenes were steamy but not graphic. We don’t have many books like that anymore. I love the details in the characters and the scenery. I could see myself looking at Maison D’amour, the community center, and the beach houses.

I disliked Nico and I hated that it ended.

Liezel: Honest to goodness, I wasn’t in love with the cover. I thought it was a huge disappointment ( Sorry!) but behind the cover is one hell of a story.  I loved the character development the most. You would not expect to sympathize with someone labeled as a “whore” but once you get to know Lili and the extent of what she has gone through – you do. As much as I loved Lili, I loved Soti too. This man had a heart of gold. I couldn’t have wished for anyone better for Lili.

What did you think about Soti and Lili? Do they pair well together?

Angie: I’m so in love with them it’s crazy. Soti as an individual was already swoon-worthy but him with Lili is like Drogo with Khaleesi speaking words I don’t understand but not caring because I’m already a puddle in the floor. Soti has a big heart and a dark past that Lili seems to bring out and erase from him all at the same time. Lili was extremely strong and my heart went out to her but also stupid at times. She had to harden her heart but when she’s with Soti we see a side that’s soft, free and vibrant. When they finally give into their attraction to each it’s like nothing else. I loved them together and I knew instantly that they would be amazing together.

Liezel: I did have my doubts if such an unlikely relationship work considering the life that Lili lead but I shouldn’t have worried because Willow Aster convinced us 100% that these two were meant to be together. They went through so much together there isn’t a doubt that these two are bound to be together forever.

Could you ever be a high paid whore?

Angie: Depending on my situation I could. I know Lili was “born” into it but she was more forced. If I wasn’t in her situation and I could do it under my own rules.  I would if I needed the money to survive and I could control my clientele.

Liezel: I think if I was desperate enough, I could endure just about anything. If it did happen, I would be certain that I was safe and I would be able to get out of that situation as soon as humanly possible.

Do you have a favorite quote?

Angie:

“Place a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame.”

Liezel: There were so many beautiful quotes in this book but this is what stood out for me the most…

“Our bodies leave no room for doubt. She engraves her name on my heart; I know exactly when it happens. She leans back just long enough to look in my eyes, as if checking to see if this is real. What she sees there reassures her, and we both shake with the knowledge of it. Two lost souls, found.”

Would you recommend this book?

Angie: Yes I would. I love Willow’s books but this one, so far, is my favorite by her. She has left me in awe. I already miss Lili, Soti, Astra and the gang. I really hope we get to revisit them in the future.

Liezel: Yes, this couple made such a lasting impression to the point where they started appearing in my dreams. That alone says alot! Read it and fall in love with this beautifully written story.
