I’m a freak, a misfit, an odd end.
Abandoned and unloved.
But my happiness is so close I can taste it.
Until he shows up.
Gorgeous, expensive, and all man.
Sad brown eyes and a brilliant smile.
And he wants me to go with him.
His intentions are hidden.
His motives are unclear.
Yet, I leave with him because there’s no happiness here.
What he promises feels too good to be true…
A castle. A fortune. And horses too.
It’s too easy.
Nothing in my life has ever been easy.
What’s the catch?
There’s always a catch.
I honestly don’t know how to write my review. How can I put into words how beautiful this book was? I simply can’t. I’m not a poet or even a great reviewer for that matter so I’ll tell you how it made me feel.
I felt confused, hurt, angry, sadness and disappointment. I felt love, hopeful, joy, excitement and peace. So many emotions working for each other or against each other that I couldn’t keep track.
Casey, Torin and Tyler are 3 pieces of one whole. They’re a family but not like your average family. Casey comes into their life at an unexpected time and the things that unfold in between the pages of this book is breathtakingly beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.
My Torin deals with a subject not many authors write. Miss Webster is known to take the taboo or the subject matters that others stay away from and bring them to a light like we’ve never seen before. This book was no different. I think that’s why it made it so special and why so many will love it. <3
I’ve read numerous K. Webster books but My Torin is so far my all time favorite. Why you might ask? It because that the issues that were brought up are ones that I have experienced firsthand. For once I felt like I could relate to this characters. Tyler, Torin, and Casey without a doubt affected me on a personal level.
My Torin is about a devoted brother (Tyler) who would literally do anything for his younger brother (Torin) even if meant obtaining something by unconventional means. The life of these brothers is a difficult one but when Casey enters their life it eases their torment tenfold.
Casey was merely surviving but this too changes when Tyler seeks her out. From then, we witness three lives changing, merging, melding into one and although it didn’t seem likely that things will get better for these characters K. Webster surprises us. I loved how everything came full circle.
What I love most about this book was how the author brought forth an awareness for a certain disability and although it is just a glimpse it still moved me to no end. It gave me hope. I loved everything about this story and can not recommend it enough for new and old K. Webster fans alike.
