“What is the price you’re willing to pay?”
“Money isn’t an issue.”
“I’m not talking about money.”
Tate is on the hunt to find his best friend’s sister.
Eleven years ago, Lucia Dias was abducted. Presumed dead. He never met her, so why does he care?
Some might call his efforts noble, but his motivation is more perverse, bordering on obsession.
When he follows a chilling lead to Venezuela’s Kidnap Alley, what he finds is neither a corpse nor a captive.
Amid poisonous lies and crippling depravity, the price of love is devastation.
And he pays.
With his body, his blood, and her life.
I haven’t read all of Pam Godwin’s books honestly but the ones that I have read are some of my favorite romantic suspense and dark romance stories ever. I love the amount of detail that she puts into her books. The stories itself are great but it is the character development in each and one of this books is what always grabs me.
It was once said…”If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they’re yours; if they don’t they never were.” How apropos because Tate follows this concept down to a T. Letting go is just one of the things that I appreciate about this hero. Besides it being the right thing to do, it was a sign that something MORE was out there waiting for him.
Lucia. She was the epitome of a “survivor.” It was as if she knew that there was a meaning for all the suffering and pain. She could have given up long ago but by sheer willpower, courage, and tenacity she got through it to find what that was. Tate.
I thought I would struggle with how immediate Tate’s feeling emerged considering the fact that Camille and Lucia were sisters but Pam Godwin obliterated all of my doubts. From the very first time Tate caught a glimpse of her, he just knew she was fated for him. I loved that when they found each other that they were willing to do everything to save each other.
The main couple wasn’t the only character that I adored in this book either. Van, he was a monster in Vanquish and although I knew Amber had a hand in changing him it was here that we witness him portrays as a saint. I thought it was fantastic how the author basically reinvented him.
If you are into dark, gritty and suspenseful romance, the Deliver Series is one of the best of the best. I personally can not get enough of these vigilantes! The first book is free so don’t hesitate. Try it out and be prepared to fall in love with these unforgettable couples!
