A thrilling return to the #1 New York Times bestselling urban fantasy series, continuing Rachel Morgan’s story.
RACHEL MORGAN IS BACK–AND THE HOLLOWS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.
What happens after you’ve saved the world? Well, if you’re Rachel Mariana Morgan, witch-born demon, you quickly discover that something might have gone just a little bit wrong. That the very same acts you and your friends took to forge new powers may have released something bound by the old. With a rash of zombies, some strange new murders, and an exceedingly mysterious new demon in town, it will take everything Rachel has to counter this new threat to the world–and it may demand the sacrifice of what she holds most dear.
Liezel’s Thoughts:
Have you ever read a series that no matter how much time has come to pass you can’t seem to forget… “The Hallows” is that series for me. To be honest, I could’ve been doing something mundane such as eating a tomato and automatically be thrust in Rachel Morgan’s world. The Hallows left one fine lasting impression and that is why I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book.
What was so great about Rachel Morgan’s return is that all of the great characters that we’ve met and fallen in love way back when are back and are better than ever before. I couldn’t ask for a better team working with our witch-born demon who is bound to save the world, damn the consequences.
Kim Harrison didn’t stop at reviving the existing crew either. A few more notable characters were added which further enlightened the story. That complex relationship that I thought was always questionable in the previous books was clearly defined and I am completely elated for those two (insert happy-dance emoji here).
American Demon had the perfect combination of baby mama drama, romance, mystery, thrill, and suspense. It left me heartbroken in the end but I am sure Rachel Morgan will remedy that situation in a kick-ass sort of way in the near future. Hopefully, we don’t have to wait that long for the next installment of this outstanding urban-fantasy series.
