I may have reached my breaking point. As if trying to graduate from a school for supernaturals isn’t stressful enough, my relationship status has gone from complicated to a straight-up dumpster fire.
Oh, and the Bloodletter has decided to drop a bomb of epic proportions on us all...
Then again, when has anything at Katmere Academy not been intense?
And the hits just keep coming. Jaxon's turned colder than an Alaskan winter. The Circle is splintered over my upcoming coronation. As if things couldn’t get worse, now there’s an arrest warrant for Hudson’s and my supposed crimes—which apparently means a lifetime prison sentence with a deadly unbreakable curse.
Choices will have to be made...and I fear not everyone will survive.
Liezel’s Thoughts:
I have to admit, the second book in the series – Crush, annoyed me. It annoyed me enough not to want to finish the book, let alone the series. There were just too many elements that had me gnashing my teeth—especially the craziness about pitting one brother against the other. But, I do have to say that I am glad that I continued and pushed through because Covet answered all the questions and then some.
Not only do we witness how Grace further develops her powers, but we see her mature into a magnificent heroine. In the beginning, she was a weak human, but now she is a force to be reckoned with. Despite the power she holds, she knows where she came from. Grace’s humility, self-sacrifice, loyalty, and ability to love will get her and her friends through their greatest battle, which is yet to come.
As for the romance, yes, at first, it gave me whiplash. I was confused about where the author was going with this absurd love triangle, but as I mentioned, it all becomes clear in this book who Grace belongs with. I thought it was impossible to explain what was what, but I loved how the author proved me wrong!
It wasn’t just the angsty romance that kept me riveted; it was the suspense. Watching how Grace and her friends got through each trial that came their way left me hanging at the edge of my seat, begging for more! If you are looking for a series that combines Twilight, Harry Potter, and Hunger Games elements to it, give this series a chance. I am sure you won’t be disappointed.
