A man whose lifestyle is so different from her own…

Nic Dalton’s cupcake bakery is thriving. She serves both rock stars and locals alike, content with her growing business. But one adventurous night out with her best friend, Bailey, turns her life upside down. She meets a handsome stranger who makes her skin sizzle and her heart race. Their one night together is explosive and unexpected, but when he has to suddenly leave without taking her phone number, Nic resigns herself to never seeing him again.

…What will it take to trust and submit to his every desire?

Matt Montgomery is one of Seattle’s finest. He works hard, loves and protects his family fiercely, and is loyal almost to a fault.

And he has a penchant for bondage.

Matt enjoys the way a woman looks wrapped up in his ropes, and makes no apologies for his preferences. When he meets Nic at a fetish festival, the small, beautiful woman catches his eye, drawing him to her. His one night with her was everything he’s ever looked for in a partner, but is cut short because of a family emergency. Even before he sees her again weeks later, he knows he’ll never get her out of his system.

And he’ll do whatever it takes to make her his.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

I absolutely adore this series. Every single book has  something different to offer – from a popular actor, to famous rockstar to a military man and in this case a detective. Each of these attractive men and their would be partners have their own unique issues that they need to overcome to get to their HEA. Not one story is ever alike.

We’ve heard about Matt in the previous books and it’s been hinted that he  had this fondness for a little kink and we sure did witness him in action in this book. The object of his desire, Nic who he meets at a festival has not a single clue about this lifestyle. Nic is unwilling to become a participant in any of the exhibits but her interest is piqued as soon as she sees Matt.

As soon as she experiences what Matt has to offer she just can’t get enough. Matt is immediately smittened with Nic too and both find themselves in an unexpected relationship. Due to the circumstances that they meet , Nic doesn’t think that their relationship could develop into anything serious. As they spend time together  it becomes so much deeper than they both could’ve  possibly imagined and while Matt is overcome with his feelings towards Nic she is so much more hesitant thinking she will never be able to provide him with everything that he needs.

“My body is drawn to her. I need to feel her flesh against mine. There is no want about it. She’s as necessary to me now as breathing…”

It takes one serious talk by the family matriarch for her to finally come to her senses. This is by far the one  best things  about these books – that strong family support we witness throughout the series. Every single one of the siblings and the parents have such a phenomenal connection. I also love that  six books in  we still get to read little snippets on every single one of the previous couples. Seems like a lot right?   But the way the author mentions them in the story never overshadows the current couple being featured.

About Nic and Matt’s pairing, I thought they were great together. For some reason I thought their coupling was more electrifying than Caleb and Brynna. It might have been because the BDSM components  but don’t be misled into thinking that this is what the story is about. Consider it as BDSM-lite if you may. If anything, those factors were added in to spice-up the romance but in the end  it all concludes into love and devotion.

I enjoyed this straight forward and easy to read romance and I am looking forward  to seeing what Kristen Proby has in store for a young player Mark coming up next.
