Reid Travers knows how to win. Becoming Motocross royalty was always the plan, and he was willing to make sacrifices along the way to reach his goal. Sacrifices he thought he could live with until he returned to the small town where he grew up and learned to ride, and, more importantly, where he fell in love.

When fate sends Nora Bennett back into his life, he takes one look at her and realizes that he made a huge mistake breaking up with her seven years ago. Now, he'll do whatever it takes to win her back. As Reid sets out to earn her forgiveness and convince her that the guy she's dating is not the one for her, Nora finds herself torn between what her head is telling her and what her heart wants.

It's a race he never expected to be in, for a girl he can't stand to lose again.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

Looking for a second chance romance that will knock you off your feet and have you begging for more? Look no further because… “Throttled” is the perfect choice for you!

“Throttled” is about a champion motocross rider, Reid Travers, who returns to his hometown for a much-needed season break. As soon as his feet hit the ground in his hometown of Halstead he begins to reminisce all the great moments he had growing up which includes those memories of his first love Nora Bennett. Just from reading those first few paragraphs I immediately figured out just how big of an impact Nora had made on Reid’s life.

From there on I knew that their reunion had the potential of being fantastic and in some ways it was  since we see how great Reid and Nora chemistry was.  This, however, is when we too find that despite this magnetism that they have that Nora is already spoken for. At this point in the story, I felt  downright stressed! I don’t know about you guys but cheating is a big “no-no” for me and I would have been entirely disappointed if it came to that.

Needless to say that I was grateful that it didn’t  but if the author went that bout I would have been pleased anyway because the antagonist was a major douche. He would have deserved everything that he got, in my opinion. Seeing just how despicable this person was not only proved to me just how great  Reid’s character was but also  Reid and Nora belonged together.

“I think you’re right about the timing not being right and how everything worked out the way it did for a reason. But now, it’s different. We can handle it. We can make this work and we can be parents if we want to be. We could…we can have whatever we want out of life….”

I absolutely loved how Reid went about winning her over. In this case… All is definitely fair in love and war! I thought that their pairing and their eventual relationship was great. Time and distance completely solidified them. The author hit it right on the nail when she mentioned the quote above… The only thing about them however was I wished  that the love scenes would have been a touch steamier. Sure it was good but for some reason I needed more.

This being the first book I’ve read from this author I would have to say that I did enjoy the writing style. I  appreciated how she was able to flip from one POV to the other seamlessly. I thought “Throttled” is remarkable since I have never read a book about a motocross rider before. This is definitely another reason why I will keep coming back for more!

What was also great about “Throttled” was how the author introduced the next couple into the series. Both Brett and Hoyt certainly made a lasting impression on me.I know I am going to be one of the many fans that will be waiting impatiently for “WHIPPED” – the next installment of the Wild Riders Series.

About Elizabeth Lee

Born and raised in the middle of a Midwestern cornfield (not literally, that would be weird), I’ve spent my entire life imagining stories. Stories where the right guy always gets the right girl, first kisses are as magical as they are on the big screen and anything is completely possible if you believe.

Although this journey began years ago, it recently took on a whole new life. After years of devouring hundreds of Romance, YA and New Adult novels, I had an epiphany… I should write a book. And I did it!

If I’m not reading, writing, enjoying drinks with my amazing group of girlfriends or chasing around a sarcastically funny kid, I’m probably watching television shows that were created for teenagers, while my husband teases that I’m too old to watch them.
