Most people would describe Katherine Berger as a responsible girl with a big heart, a loyal friend who takes care of those close to her, and the possessor of a wicked sense of humor. There was something about her that most people didn't know. "My name is Kat Berger, and I love porn."

When twenty-five-year-old Kat is dragged to a porn convention by her best friend, she's both embarrassed and nervous. The last thing she ever expected was to meet someone who makes her laugh like no other. This is a story about acceptance and friendship, and a love born out of the most unexpected of places

Liezel’s Thoughts:

Who would have thought that digging up ones a$$ (in public) would be a way to find a man? Somehow this technique worked wonders for Kat Berger. Pure ridiculousness, right? This entire incident certainly set the tone for the entire book. It was hilarious.

What made it even better was listening to it on audio.  I am one of those crazy readers that enjoys switching back and forth between the audiobook and the ebook versions to get through a story quicker.  With Lingus however, I would read the text then go back and listen to it all over again. Who else does that?

Repetitive? Nope, that’s just how addicting this book is.  Callie Dalton did a great job interpreting this story. After listening to this and one of her others, I can confidently say that she is by far my favorite female narrators.

I thought all of the characters in Lingus were amazing. They were that type of group of friends that you truly wanted to hang out with. The dialogue not only between them but between the main couple was consistently clever and witty. Now, about the main couple…

Loved them! Oz and Kat’s first meeting wasn’t ideal – one that they couldn’t possibly be shared with their kids later in life but sheesh it sure did lead up to something wonderful. I admit, I was a tad frustrated with Oz at first but then came to appreciated how he took his sweet time in building their relationship based on a strong friendship.

Overall, I thought Lingus was fantastic. Thank you, Mariana Zapata, for delivering such an entertaining, laugh- your- ass off  RomCom. It was exactly what I needed to finish out this maddening year.

The Verdict:

About Mariana Zapata

Mariana Zapata began writing love stories soon after she learned how to spell. She probably shouldn’t admit that she started sneaking romance novels from her aunt’s bookshelves way before she was old enough to even understand what it meant when a man flipped up a woman’s skirt. (Don’t tell her mom.) She is a New York Times and USA Today Best Seller, and reached #7 on Amazon’s Author Ranking in 2016. Her book The Wall of Winnipeg and Me was a #1 Amazon Overall Best Seller, and was chosen as a 2016 Goodreads Choice Award Nominee and also included on Amazon’s Best Books of 2016 for Romance.
