There were two brothers—identical twins—and though I loved them both, my soul belonged to only one.

Annalia Del Valle has loved Preston Sawyer all her life. The daughter of an impoverished migrant farmworker, she grew up as an outcast in what was no more than a tiny, cooped up shack in California’s Central Valley. But her heart found freedom in the land, in the wide-open spaces of Sawyer Farm, and in the boys who were her only friends.

Preston has yearned for Annalia since he was a boy. But a sense of honor kept him from pursuing her until he’s unable to hold back any longer and their worlds—and bodies—collide one hot summer night. A night that sets off a chain of events that will alter their lives forever.

Now Annalia is back in town after disappearing without a trace for six long months. Determined to reclaim her heart, her life, and the baby she left behind—the son who was created in a moment of lust and love and pent-up yearning.

Preston has survived grief, a ravaging drought, and the despair of heartache, but he’s not sure he can survive Annalia again. And he might be unwilling to try. Will pride and bitterness keep him from the one thing he’s always longed for?

How do you heal what is irreparably broken? How do you forgive that which is unforgivable? How do you discover that real honor comes not from circumstance, but from the place deep in our hearts where truth resides? And how do you move beyond the wounds of the past to discover that some loves are as solid as the ground beneath your feet, and as enduring as the earth itself?

Liezel’s Thoughts:

It never fails….every single time I open a book by Mia Sheridan I become completely enraptured. The connection I develop for her characters is always deep and profound where I can’t help but feel both sympathy and empathy with what each are going through.

Even in her teenage years Annalia’s integrity was apparent. Her life was so full of hardship and sorrow  yet her thoughts remained innocent and pure. Just when you thought she was given hope there was always someone or something that would tear her down. Some would say that leaving was unforgivable but once you stop and think from her perspective what she did was selfless.

She made the ultimate sacrifice not only to save herself but her family. Of all the amazing heroines she was without a doubt one that deserved a “happily ever after”. Did she get it? YES!  It was a long and bumpy road but she did eventually find what she was looking for in Preston.

So about Preston… the guy was definitely honorable (hence the title) but I do have to admit that I was a bit frustrated with him. In the end however, I realized the wait was what they needed to succeed in their relationship. His actions  sure did make for one helluva wonderful story.

Overall I thought Preston’s Honor was just as beautiful as the rest of Mia’s previous work. The characters are always the driving factor in her books, second would be the emotional response she is able to pull from me. I would definitely recommend any of her books if you are one who loves well written, love stories full of heart!

The Verdict:

About Mia Sheridan

I’m an avid reader, and now writer! of romance and erotic novels. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio with my husband who is a police officer and my biggest fan (not necessarily in that order). 😉 We have four children here on earth and one in heaven. When I’m not sitting on my couch with my head buried in my Kindle, I can be found writing or doing anything creative from building a patio, to sewing pillows. The wild hairs I get know no bounds. Leo is my debut novel, but my head is swimming with more…
