Stolen by the Arziani Georgian crime mob as a child, 152 was raised and conditioned to be a Mona—the most subservient of the Arziani Blood Pit slaves.
Gorgeous and kind, she has been and under the imprisoning influence of the Type B drug and under the command of the Blood Pit Master’s sister, Mistress Arziani, for most of her life, until the Master calls her back home to Georgia.
He wants her under his total control, and Master always gets what he wants.
But when 152 is gifted to the Blood Pit’s fearsome champion death match fighter as a prize, 152 suddenly finds out that the men who appear most brutal, may just own the kindest hearts. And love may be found, even when living in hell.
Freedom, family, love, 152 will have to fight for what she wants and ultimately make an impossible choice.
Liezel’s Thoughts:
“Mesmerizing!” “Played out like a movie!” “Tillie Cole outdid herself!” These were among the few thoughts running through my mind as I got to Riot’s end.
There are so many things that I loved about this book…well, the entire series actually. I loved that despite the violence and depravity that all four of these hardened males experienced that they were able to save themselves from the brink of insanity through LOVE.
They are all in their own sense, remarkable and their counterpart females are just as impressive. There was never a doubt about the couples’ pairings. Tillie Cole certainly proved to us repeatedly that each were fated to be together especially in Inessa and Ilya’s case.
“…life had played out as it should. Though tragedy, we were both stronger. And through distance out love was stronger. She was mine. I was hers. Her, the girl, whose soul matched mine. And I, the boy, who was made perfectly for her. Finally home. Happy. At peace.”
Another thing great about this was how the relationships among Ilya, Valentine, Luka and Zaal developed. They weren’t blood-related but their bond was even deeper and profound than that. They all ended up exactly where they deserved to be.
Everything I’ve read so far by Tillie Cole has been outstanding but I must say that the “Scarred Souls Series” is by far my favorite. I definitely couldn’t ask for a better ending in “Riot”, the way she pulled every aspect together in this finale was perfection.
