Never is a girl with a broken soul who doesn't date nice guys and can't seem to go to bed at night without crying herself to sleep. She doesn't need any complications in her life, especially not when they're attached to a man that could be her emotional twin.

Ty McCabe can't stand Never the first time he meets her. He's aware that the feeling's mutual and the two don't think they'll ever see each other again, but when fate takes a hand and puts them both in the wrong place at the wrong time, Ty and Never form a tentative friendship that opens the door on their dark sides and shows them what it's like to live in the light.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

Martin Luther King , Jr

I love this series! It might not be for everyone  because it has a lot of dialogue and narrative which some may think is horribly boring. But to me every single one of these passages were heartfelt and delivered with precision. I tell you a lot of my ebook pages were heavily highlighted in all three of these books. It was difficult to decide which to add to this review.

The first book  Tasting Never is more about how Never and Ty met. How he attempted to avoid her but in the end how they manage  saving each other. You see, they are both sex addicts with dark pasts. Hers is based on her family particularly her mom and the choices that she made. His is more about his horrible childhood that leads  him into prostitution.  Through their friendship  and  counseling they get over their addiction and help each other heal.

“Ty is an enigma to me. He’s still the wounded soul that I met at the bar, but he’s also something different now. I can’t put my finger on it, but when he looks at me, his eyes are full of color and life that attracts me like a moth to flames.

17314424Book 2, Finding Never is more about Never going back to her past to find closure.  She decides that in order to fully heal she  needs to  see her family and talk to her  ex-boyfriend Noah. But as soon as she gets there, she hesitates. Being the supportive boyfriend Ty is – he supports and encourages her every step of the way.

“You can do this. You have to do this. This is your family. They’re here, and you can’t keep running. Memories are tricky mother fuckers, and they’re fast too. You can’t escape them, baby. They’ll always be there. You have to look ’em in the eye and be brave.”

Of course Ty is threatened by Noah since he was Never’s first love and she can’t give Ty a straight answer when asked about how she feels about Noah. Despite this he continues to be there fighting for her…

“I want you to choose me for me. I want you to say fuck you Noah Scott and mean it. When you can do that, really do that, come tell me. It’ll happen, I know it will.”

And just when everything is perfect, the unexpected happens. Never decides to keep a secret from Ty, which they promised never to do. Which leads us into book 3, Keeping Never.

17436480Book 3 starts with Ty getting some bad news. They hesitantly leave Never’s family in Mississippi right after the holidays and head to New York where Ty grew up. Ty doesn’t know what to expect. He’s childhood was never a good one and Never is worried that the darkness might overcome him again.  Adding to the stress level , Never still hasn’t told Ty about her secret.

Here we find out why Ty is the way he is… despite the darkness of his past, Never remains at his side. She is finally able to admit to Ty that she is carrying his child. And instead of being upset like Never thought he would be, he is ecstatic.

“I marked you. You’re mine. I like that. I like knowing that my baby is growing inside of you, that a piece of me will always be tied with a piece of you.”

All that time Never was stressed over nothing. He always knew that she was carrying his child.  He knew the signs …In the end of this book  Ty  too was able to find his closure that Never found in Finding Never.

“Something inside of me called for something you had inside of you. Everything that happened after that, I consider a blessing because it brought us together. You were the reason I wanted to change myself once and for all…I needed you. I wanted you. I still do, Never, and that will never change.”

So there’s no doubt, you have to read them in order. Can’t read any of them as a stand alone either. I was fortunate to discover this series after all three were released – lucky me! And I think you’re better off not reading them back to back. Stagger a book or two in between. If you ask me which one was my favorite, I think book 2 (  Finding Never ) was. Just because in this one we read how Ty and Never become fully committed to each other. The love triangle aspect also made it interesting and yeah the tractor and park scene was wow-wow- wowza.

“…promise you that I will love that woman forever, that I’d rather die than do something stupid that could hurt her. I can tell you that she changed my life, and I think, somehow, I changed hers. We’re good for each other, Never and me. Just two tortured souls tangled together for life. Just two, fucking souls in love.”

The author asked in the last book if the readers would want to read more. Hell yeah I want to read more! I would definitely love to read about Noah. His character was terrific! The guy was so selfless, intelligent, romantic and passionate. I do really want him ending up with Zella that way if their story gets written we get to hear about Ty, Never and Baby Noah . Naming the little one Noah was perfect too!

About C.M. Stunich

C.M. Stunich was raised under a cover of fog in the area known simply as Eureka, CA. A mysterious place, this strange, arboreal land nursed Caitlin’s (yes, that’s her name!) desire to write strange fiction novels about wicked monsters, magical trains, and Nemean
Lions (Google it!). She currently enjoys drag queens, having too many cats, and tribal bellydance.
Always a fan of the indie scene and
‘sticking it to the man,’ Ms. Stunich
decided to take the road less traveled and forgo the traditional publishing route. You can be assured though that she received several rejections as to
ensure her proper place in the world of writers before taking up a friend’s offer to start a publishing company. Sarian Royal was born, and Ms. Stunich’s books slowly transformed from mere baking chocolate to full blown tortes with hand sculpted fondant flowers.

C.M. is a writer obsessed with
delivering the very best and scours her mind on a regular basis to select the most unusual stories for the outside world.
