Two words sum up my summer in paradise—Evan Ashford.

I have a life back home I must return to, though my heart battles this reality. What started as a carefree summer fling has become so much more. Evan has become so much more. He’s become everything. Cupping his face, I stare into his deep blue eyes, wanting to lose myself once more... needing to know he feels this too.

Although our connection won’t stop the summer’s end from rushing toward us or silence the demons Evan battles, I have faith our love can overcome the obstacles that will undoubtedly arise from us choosing to be together. I still worry… Will our good intentions be good enough? But I’m all in, willing to take the risk, knowing he can destroy my heart if I’m wrong.

Like a riptide, I was forever changed by one woman—Mallory Wray.

Our eyes meet and we spend a moment looking into the others’, reading the fear and the love that mingles within. I move slowly down and kiss her forehead, her nose, her eyelids, her cheeks, and her chin before I kiss her lips again—soft and gentle, not rushed, but sensual. She smiles and I die inside knowing that I won’t get to see her face every day. I’ve been spoiled by this sweet angel giving me all her days and nights. I possessively take hold of her wrists and like so many times before, the air stills as our connection intensifies. I can’t help myself when it comes to her.

I kiss her.

Rain pours down harder and I wrap my arms around her, engulfing her body, her love, her soul.

**First of all I have to say that  this book can not be read as a standalone. To fully understand the nitty-gritty of Mallory and Evan’s relationship and its’ dynamics you  have to read Good Vibrations first.  I thought it was a  very easy and light story that could be read over a quiet weekend and  would highly recommend taking advantage of the $.99 book sale like I did. **

Liezel’s Thoughts:

Good Intentions continues right where Good Vibrations left off with Mallory and Evan finally both  agreeing to give their relationship a  shot. Just like any new relationship it doesn’t come that easy. When I thought that they were able to overcome all  their setbacks in Good Vibrations even more serious ones pop up in this one.

This story starts off with a BANG with two of those issues presenting themselves  back to back. Just as one problem is resolved more keep coming their way and I have to say that all of it sure did keep me engrossed and enraptured. There isn’t a single dull moment in this story.

With every problem that  they conquer their psychological, emotional and physical connection definitely just gets stronger and stronger. And talk about some serious  make-up sex and all the other enticing sexing that goes on. These two are just AMAZING together and they do compliment each other in other aspects too.

“I’m yours. You marked my heart as yours the day I met you…”
Evan, Good Vibrations

As  the story further unravels, I felt that both the main characters developed so much more depth than depicted in the first book. There were some interesting secrets disclosed that gives you an even better understanding of Evan and the guilt that he struggled with  over the years.

The supporting characters are terrific as well. I loved the natural playfulness between the siblings,  the strong ties between the friends and how the other couples supported Mallory and Evan through their many hurdles. However, I would like to mention how saddened and disappointed I am  with Noah’s character. He had so much potential and I am hoping that the author can make it up to me and decide to eventually write his own story.*wink*

What I also loved most about this book was  the setting. The author did such a remarkable job describing the locale and the culture  of Hawaii. It makes you want to pack your bags and go experience her portrayal of paradise yourself.  Loved it!

The only thing about it is the cliffhanger otherwise I enjoyed this VERY addicting series and am looking forward to reading more  into Mallory and Evan’s story.

The Verdict:

rating-4

Excerpt:

Noah cups my face, forcing me to look at him. His words are urgent as he stares straight into my eyes. “I will never treat you like that. You mean more to me than that, Mallory.” He pulls me by the arm and as if I don’t have a say in the matter, I go stumbling behind him.

“Mallory!” Evan calls, and though I know better, my heart still aches for him.

Looking over my shoulder, Murphy and Zach have him restrained. My eyes catch movement nearby, and I see his mom and Kelly smiling in their victory. I move forward, needing to be free from the hate of their contemptuous eyes, needing a minute away from everything to do with a future snuffed out. They planted the seed and let us destroy each other. A conversation that should have happened during more sober times, forced itself into our lives, and now we’ll pay the price for the hurt we’ve caused. Both of us walk away wounded in a battle over egos and lies, a battle that should have never been waged.

Just as I round the corner, a strangled cry halts my escape and every breath in my body.

“Don’t leave me, Baby! I love you!”
