As a woman who feels her clock ticking every single moment of the day, former bad girl Kate Anderson is desperate to reinvent herself. So when she sees a handsome stranger walking toward her, she feels it in her bones, there's no time like the present. He's the one.

Kate vows to do whatever it takes to have what she wants, even if that something is becoming someone else. Now, ten pounds thinner, armed with a new name, and a plan, she’s this close to living the perfect life she’s created in her mind.

But Kate has secrets.

And too bad for her, that handsome stranger has a few of his own.

With twists and turns you won’t see coming, Water Under The Bridge examines the pressure that many women feel to “have it all” and introduces a protagonist whose hard edges and cutthroat ambition will leave you questioning your judgment and straddling the line between what’s right and wrong.

Q&A by Liezel & Angie

Why did you decide to read  this book?

Liezel: Contemporary romance has always been my focus. I do stray every now and then and since it caught the attention of my most trusted friend, I decided to read it with her. No regrets here because this book is terrific, very unexpected.

Angie: I saw the cover and fell in love! I read the blurb and fell more in love. I mean two killers in love? There were no doubts in my head that this book was for me and my most loyal friend!

Was there something about the story that stood out for you? If so, what was it?

Liezel: The characters of course! I am convinced that both are psychopaths – one is worse than the other. And because of the violence and brutality that they dish out you want to HATE them. You want to give them the middle finger, write them off and say “Screw the both of you, you don’t deserve happiness,” but as the story unfolded I couldn’t help sympathize. I hated them then came to love them.

Angie: I have to agree with Liezel and I couldn’t have said it better myself! These characters are off the chart insane! You hate them, then you love them and the next you’re laughing your ass. I felt bipolar while reading Water Under the Bridge. Thinking about it, I need to make an appointment with a psychiatrist to get some meds. Lol!

Did you think Kate and Jude made a good pairing? Do you foresee them together in say 10 years?

Liezel: I couldn’t imagine a better man for Kate. In my opinion, she was the more complex of the two and although there were times that it wasn’t possible but he balanced her out. Without him, I couldn’t see her keeping afloat for long. Yes, I see these two committed to each other for years to come. They’ve been through so much already, I am convinced they can handle the test of time. Their children’s future boyfriends/girlfriends though? That would make another great story, don’t you think?

Angie: No one else could put up with them or I should say they wouldn’t be able to tolerate anyone else. They barely tolerated each other. But their chemistry made them unique and that’s why I think they’ll die happy and in love.

Do you think you’ll read more of this series?

Liezel: I am addicted! I definitely foresee myself reading more about Jude and Kate. This couple is so distinct and I can not wait to see how far Britney King will take them both as individuals and as a couple.

Angie: Yes!! I can’t wait to read Dead in the Water!! This story was amazing and I know the next will be just as good or even better!

About Britney King

Britney King writes romantic suspense novels and psychological thrillers set in suburbia. She is currently writing three series and several standalone novels. The Bedrock series (psychological/domestic/romantic thriller) features an unlikely heroine who should have known better. Turns out, she didn’t. Thus she finds herself tangled in a messy, dangerous, forbidden love story and face-to-face with a madman hell-bent on revenge. The series has been compared to Fatal Attraction, Single White Female, and Basic Instinct.

The Water Trilogy (psychological/domestic/romantic thriller) follows the shady love story of unconventional married couple— he’s an assassin—she kills for fun. It has been compared to a crazier version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

The With You series (romantic suspense/contemporary romance) is a coming of age, friends to lovers, second chance (plus a few) love story about unlikely friends who travel the world; trying to find themselves, together and apart. It has been compared to Love, Rosie.

Around The Bend, is a heart-pounding standalone (romantic suspense/domestic/psychological thriller), which traces the journey of a well-to-do suburban housewife, and her life as it unravels, thanks to the secrets she keeps. If she were the only one with things she wanted to keep hidden, then maybe it wouldn’t have turned out so bad. But she wasn’t.

Britney lives in Austin, Texas with her husband, children, two dogs, one ridiculous cat, and a partridge in a pear tree.
